On February 5, 2004, ROSE T. (nee Martin), beloved wife of the late Frank P. Shaney, devoted mother of Cecilia Zink, Frank P. Shaney, Meredith "Spike" Shaney, Arthur E. Shaney, Michele C. Barnes, Christel C. Meadows, and the late William J. Shaney. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the family owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc., 7922 Wise Avenue, on Monday at 11 A.M. Interment Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.

US Lacrosse today announced the U.S. men's national team roster for the Sunday, Jan. 27 exhibition against defending NCAA champion Loyola at the Champion Challenge. Scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., the eighth annual event will be the first in which the Team USA men take on the defending NCAA champion. Team USA also will face 2012 NCAA semifinalist Notre Dame on Jan. 26, with Jacksonville University also scheduled to participate in the event.

JOHN WILLIAM GRILL, JR., 61, of Salisbury, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was born in Baltimore, a son of Margaret (Zink) Grill of Baltimore and the late John William Grill, Sr. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where a memorial service will be held at 7:00. A second memorial service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Baltimore Yacht Club, 800 Yacht Club Rd, Essex, MD 21221.

Joseph B. Harlan, a prominent Baltimore attorney and lifelong supporter of lacrosse, died Thursday at Gilchrist Hospice Care after suffering from a brain tumor. He was 66. Born in Roland Park, he graduated from Friends School. He was an excellent lacrosse player and went to the University of Maryland on an athletic scholarship. He then earned a law degree from the University of Baltimore. Mr. Harlan began his career as a prosecutor in the organized crime division of the state's attorney's office and later worked as a deputy director of the federally funded Narcotics Strike Force.

Mark Millon scored six goals for Baltimore, earning MLL's Offensive Player of the Week honors. The team also got two goals and three assists from midfielder Justin Redd. With six former Bayhawks on their active roster - including 2005 starters Josh Sims, Lee Zink and Trevor Tierney - Denver has outscored its opponents 39-25 in its first two games, beating San Francisco, 15-11, last weekend.

Seven players with local ties were named to the All-Major League Lacrosse team Friday. Chosen at attack were the Denver Outlaws' Brendan Mundorf (UMBC), who on Thursday was named the league's Most Valuable Player, and Ryan Boyle (Gilman) of the Boston Cannons. Paul Rabil (Johns Hopkins), the Offensive Player of the Year with the Cannons, and Kyle Dixon (Archbishop Spalding) of the Chesapeake Bayhawks received All-MLL honors at midfield. Selected on defense were the Ohio Machine's Kyle Hartzell (Salisbury, Archbishop Curley)
