Former Baltimore Raven Orlando Brown died of a diabetic complication that is rarely fatal but can sometimes be quick to strike - and he might not even have known he had the underlying disease. The 40-year-old died in his Inner Harbor condominium Sept. 23 from diabetic ketoacidosis, but there were no signs he was taking insulin to treat diabetes or that a doctor had ever diagnosed him with the disease, according to the state's chief medical examiner. "We did not manage to find any evidence at the scene that indicated he had a medical diagnosis of diabetes," said medical examiner David Fowler.

Makes no bones about it - "No Holds Barred" is not a great movie. So why did WWE decide to digitally remaster the 1989 film and release it on DVD (out today) and why would it interest you? "No Holds Barred" falls in the category of movies that have a cult following probably for the wrong reasons - it's campy, over the top, unintentionally funny. Yet somehow it selects the perfect slices of cheese that you sample and can't stop eating. After an hour-and-a-half, you're left wondering how you were able to sit through the entire movie, but are glad you did and anxiously find others who have as well to share stories.

Zeus Cafe has no clever slogans, no "signature dishes" and not much in the way of atmosphere. In a city rich with diners, where so many have acquired a certain self-conscious, sometimes irritating whimsy, this small restaurant is about as straightforward as a diner can be. Zeus serves basic Greek and American dishes at rock-bottom prices. Located just one crucial block from the heart of Fells Point, Zeus lacks the retro appeal of the nearby Jimmy's, which enjoys a better location but has a similar menu.

Halfway through the story about his life, Zeus rolled over to have his belly rubbed. He than sat patiently with his tongue lolling out of his mouth. The 8-year-old, 100-pound yellow English/American Labrador knew what was coming at the end of "My Dog Eats Peas" ... and it wasn't peas. It was a big dog bone. "We give him big dog bones because he is so big," said Tonya Neumeister, Zeus' owner and author of the children's book, "My Dog Eats Peas. " And while Zeus does like peas, as the story explains, peas are not exactly the best food for dogs.

I hear people complaining all the time that there aren't enough hours in the day. Between working, sleeping, paying e-bills, answering emails, texting, household chores, commuting, fixing the car and dealing with idiots, the 24 hours of the day whirl by and there's no time to enjoy life, no time to relax with family and friends, no time to do the things we say we should do. You know: "We should go on a picnic"; "We should take a drive to the coast";...

When I first heard the news of Orlando Brown's death, like most people, I was stunned. Not Zeus. He was too tough to die. There was nothing fierce or mean enough to be able to take Orlando Brown away from here. But as time wore on Friday, I started smiling because Zeus had fooled me again. He always portrayed this image as the toughest guy on the planet, but for those who really knew him, Zeus was a pussycat, one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. He was a huge man with a huge heart.

Bryce Manubay wore a toga and carried a tinfoil trident. Against a painted backdrop of Mount Olympus, the sixth-grader put his creative touch on the role the Greek god Poseidon might have played in the origin of hurricanes, thunderstorms and floods. Because Poseidon didn't like it when people dumped trash into his ocean, Bryce said, "he put a curse on the sea, such that when he commanded it, the water would churn, the skies would darken and Zeus would go crazy with thunderbolts, summoning a storm."

Fans of Annapolis native and longtime local leading man David Bosley-Reynolds can catch his Olympian performance as Zeus along with his dual role as solid businessman Danny Maguire in Toby's Baltimore Dinner Theatre's area premiere of "Xanadu. " Always charismatic — beginning with the Chesapeake Music Hall, the Annapolis dinner theater that closed in 2004 — Bosley-Reynolds' memorable performances included his nuanced characterization of Jud in "Oklahoma," his Cowardly Lion in "The Wizard of Oz," his Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof" and his Fred Graham in "Kiss Me Kate" — the final Music Hall performance.
