When Towson's Tyler Zentz scored 18 seconds into last night's Class 3A North region championship game, Fallston had reason to be concerned. A year ago in the semifinals, the Generals ousted Fallston by scoring three times in the opening five minutes. "I was real worried that this was going to be deja vu," said Fallston's C.J. Cover. Instead, teammate Brandon Fischer scored and had an assist, and Cover scored two goals, leading Fallston to a 3-1 victory that kept alive both its hopes for a state championship and the school's first undefeated season.

McDonogh defensive linemen Kelly Cox and Tom Cooper had one thing on their minds entering last night's Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference game against 13th-ranked Calvert Hall: stop quarterback Andrew Robinson. The two players did their jobs effectively enough to help secure a 7-6 victory, combining for three sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in a hard-fought game at Johns Hopkins' Homewood Field. Bound for Syracuse on a full football scholarship, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound Robinson is bigger than Cox and the same size as Cooper.
