Admiral Cleaners in Hereford was robbed at gunpoint Feb. 29, according to a police report. A man walked into the cleaners in the 16900 block of York Road at about 1:30 p.m. carrying a garment bag. He then pulled a gun and demanded cash, the report states. After getting the money, the robber ran southbound on York Road. The robber is described as a white male, between 35 and 45, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 185 to 200 pounds, and was wearing a black coat and black and white knit hat, the report states.

Baltimore County police report that two teens were attacked when an assailant hit them with roller skates in the 8800 block of Orchard Tree Lane , Towson, at 2 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18. In addition to that incident, the following items were compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible. Cockeysville Boxer Hill Road, 12100 block, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Feb. 17. Money stolen after door kicked in and house ransacked.

Two men were seen on video removing copper wire from BGE trucks in the 10500 block of York Road, at 4:25 a.m. on Feb. 8. Police said the men ran away when officers arrived, leaving the copper outside BGE fence. In addition to the above, the following items were compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. A Sparks woman was killed early Saturday after her car struck a guard rail in Cockeysville. Baltimore County police Sgt. Benjamin Yohe said that Tamara Sue Miller-Portesky, 48, was driving north on York Road at about 2:30 a.m. Shortly after going through the intersection at Thornton Mill Road, the 2003 Ford Explorer crossed the center line and rammed into the guard rail. Upon impact, Miller-Portesky was ejected from the vehicle, and she was pronounced dead at the scene from her injuries.

A man walking near a Towson coffee shop was struck by a car early Saturday and seriously injured. The accident occurred at 12:52 a.m. near the Starbucks at York Road and Linden Terrace, according to Baltimore County Police Sgt. Benjamin Yohe. The man, who suffered head injuries during the collision, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Melissa Schehlein, a Towson native, walked the streets and byways of the Baltimore County seat in search of what was while documenting with her camera what is. The result of her search was the recently published book, "Towson: Then and Now," a 96-page photo essay that takes readers on a tour of contemporary Towson, which she contrasts photographically with images of earlier years. In her introduction, Schehlein writes that Towson is the "commercial, political and cultural heart of Baltimore County," and her mission and "primary emphasis is York Road, our defining corridor.
