When it comes to wrestling experience, Francis Scott Key seniors Matt Yinger and Jason Wiles are coming from opposite ends of the spectrum.Yinger, a four-year varsity veteran, has been wrestling for 13 years, going back to his "mat rat" days, and later as a junior-league standout. Wiles, on the other hand, has been wrestling only since his freshman year in high school, and this is his first varsity season. Each had a pin in the Eagles' most recent meet, a 36-32 loss at South Carroll last Wednesday.

Matt Yinger made it four straight titles and Francis Scott Key teammates Chris Putman and Jason Wiles came through with late victories to help the No. 9 Eagles win the team title in their 30th annual Christmas tournament last night.Yinger, who missed the early part of the season with a shoulder injury, then opened with a win in the school's dual meet with Westminster 10 days ago, pinned Dave Hicks of Old Mill in the semifinals, and put down Catoctin's Chad Dewees with one second to spare in their 135-pound final.

HAGERSTOWN -- To get an idea of just how far Francis Scott Key has come this season after an uncharacteristic 2-3 start, a look at this weekend's accomplishments at North Hagerstown High provides some answers.By coasting to their fourth straight Class 1A-2A West region title yesterday, by a 160.5-144.5 margin over second-place Southern-Garrett, the No. 14-ranked Eagles will send 10 wrestlers to next weekend's state tournament at Western Maryland College. It was the workmanlike, efficient manner the Eagles went about their business that was most impressive.

Throughout last night's match in Hampstead, the Francis Scott Key Eagles were a little stronger, a little quicker and always able to keep a step or two in front of county rival North Carroll. The result was a 33-20 win for the No. 13 Eagles, who are getting stronger as the season progresses. The way things went all night was best depicted at 130 with Key's Matt Yinger coming away with a well-earned 6-3 decision over Dameon Davis.Yinger (21-2) got an early takedown to take a 2-1 lead before Davis (15-3)
