A Pennsylvania motorcyclist apparently suffered a heart attack Wednesday evening before an accident on Littlestown Pike north of Westminster, state police said.Lenny Duane Doan, 37, of Abbottstown in York County was taken to Carroll County General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after the accident, which occurred at 5: 30 p.m., police said.According to a police report, the motorcyclist was traveling north near Bachmans Valley Road when he put his head down on the handlebars of his Yamaha Special 400 and began to lose control of the motorcycle.

Howard County police arrested an 18-year-old Baltimore man Wednesday night and charged him with possession and intent to distribute cocaine.Christopher Karl Johnson of the 1800 block of Yataruba Drive was stopped after driving through a red light at Rogers Avenue and Town & Country Boulevard in Ellicott City, police said.After a brief foot chase, police said, they arrested Mr. Johnson and found 7 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana, $1,250 in cash and a pager on him and in his car.Mr.

A Glen Burnie man was killed yesterday when he lost control of his motorcycle, hit a guardrail and skidded along Reece Road, county police said.Richard Lee Willis, 39, of the 1000 block of Kelso Drive was pronounced dead on the scene.Police said Willis was northbound just north of Severn Road on a 1981 Yamaha 650 about 12: 30 a.m. when he lost control on a curve.The motorcycle hit a guardrail and slid on its side about 100 feet before coming to rest in the northbound lane of Reece Road. Willis was pinned between the motorcycle and the rail.

A Glen Burnie man died Tuesday after his motorcycle drifted off the road and slammed into two trees near Eldersburg, state police said. William Allan Puckett Jr., 38, of the 100 block of Janaelin Drive was heading west on Arrington Road about 10:45 a.m. when his 1979 Yamaha motorcycle struck a tree on the road's north side. The motorcycle came to a stop after striking a second tree about 30 feet off the road. Puckett was taken by helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died at 11:52 a.m. State police said no one witnessed the accident, and the preliminary cause is driver error.

An off-duty state trooper was killed Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail near his home in Great Mills in St. Mary's County, state police said.Tfc. Daniel L. Choat, 30, was rounding a sharp curve on Flat Iron Road about 5: 29 p.m. when he lost control of his 1995 Yamaha, crossed the center line and hit a guardrail, police said. He was flown by helicopter to St. Mary's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7: 05 p.m.Choat, assigned to the Leonardtown Barracks, was a decorated eight-year veteran.
