On March 11, 2007, MARY WINDSOR (Molly) HARRIS of Ruxton, MD, she is survived by her loving parents Edward B. Harris III, and Laura P. Harris (nee Pilachowski); her devoted sister, Isabel Shipley Harris; her beloved grandparents, Lois Pilachowski and the late Mr. Melvin Pilachowski, Sarah Lindsay Harris and Edward B. Harris, Jr; also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, 5400 North Charles Street in Baltimore on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 10:00am.

Katharine and Sidney Hollander Jr. are probably the only residents of Windsor Hills who can make the claim of having four generations living on Talbot Road at the same time.fTC But it's easy to find people who have lived in the neighborhood for decades. That's the kind of community Windsor Hills is."We like our house, our children could come home from school for lunch, and the neighborhood is pretty," says the 80-year-old Mrs. Hollander, who has lived here with her husband for 50 years."There didn't seem to be any reason to move."

Voters in the northwest Carroll County town of New Windsor re-elected incumbent Councilman Steve Farkas yesterday in a runoff election against career firefighter Byron Welker. The candidates had finished in a tie in the May 8 municipal election, but yesterday Farkas received 113 votes to Welker's 66, Town Clerk Donna Alban said. The clerk said 179 New Windsor voters cast ballots in the runoff contest - 46 more than the turnout for the May 8 election. The town has a population of about 1,500 and 823 registered voters, according to the Carroll County Board of Elections.

Authorities are looking for a man who threatened a New Windsor couple with a gun early Sunday after entering their home and stealing money from a wallet, state police said.According to police, a man in his early 20s entered the home through an unlocked front door. When he was confronted by the couple in a second-floor hall, he pointed a gun at them and then fled, police said.No one was injured and the suspect made no spoken threats during the 2: 45 a.m. incident in the 300 block of Church St. The amount stolen was not disclosed.

Rosalie Augusta Windsor, a retired Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company of Maryland employee and telephone union official, died Tuesday of heart failure at Keswick Multicare Center. She was 85 and lived in Federal Hill.In 1930, at age 16, she began her career with C&P Telephone as a clerical worker. She later became a service observer who monitored the performance of telephone operators.She was promoted to head the observing operation across the state.She also was vice president of the Maryland Telephone Union.

For now, you can call Gilbert Bliss a "Knight of Windsor." While the Freeland man isn't British royalty, he is a member of the Windsor Institute's Royal Orders, an honor society for Windsor chairmakers, and has earned his "knighthood," having completed nine difficult courses. After two more, you can call him an "Earl of Windsor." After his wife gave him a woodworking class as a 50th-birthday present, he hasn't looked back. Bliss has been making reproduction Windsor chairs for the past seven years now. Before, he had worked as a social worker and in a lumberyard.

A 21-year-old New Windsor man was served yesterday with a six-count indictment charging him in the May 17 death of a Taylorsville man in a two-car crash.Marc Aaron Combs, of the 3600 block of Hooper Road, was indicted last month on charges of vehicular homicide while intoxicated, vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol, driving while intoxicated and three traffic offenses.Carroll Circuit Court Judge Luke K. Burns Jr. released Mr. Combs on unsecured bond yesterday after a brief bail hearing.

New Windsor's water problems may be ebbing.Work crews struck water on the Route 31 property the town bought for exploration, and that might deliver enough water to supplement the town's waning supply, Mayor Jack A. Gullo Jr. said last night during the monthly Town Council meeting."
