For the better part of her high school career, Melanie Siler has taken C. Milton Wright back in time. Not since Sonya Wilmoth (1981-84) and Kathy Mohr (1986-87), who combined for six regional and two state championships, have the Mustangs seen a pitcher as dominant as Siler. While Siler has never pitched past a regional final, her unquestionable ability has sparkled, making her not only one the area's top hurlers but also one the best in school history.Siler's 392 career strikeouts through Thursday are 25 shy of the school record, and she ranks second all-time at Wright in career victories with 47. Her 94 career walks is the school-best over four years, and Siler's earned run average (0.63)
