A Gambrills man was arrested on drug and traffic charges Monday night after a patrolman stopped him for speeding at Waugh Chapel Road and Blackcherry Way in Piney Orchard, county police said.Western District Officer Bryan Parker was operating a radar gun about 9 p.m. when he clocked a blue, 1986 Chevrolet driving by at 50 mph. Officer Parker stopped the man and found that his driver's license had been suspended, police said.Officer Parker arrested the man and took him to the Western District, where police found on him a plastic bag of a substance that they said tested positive for marijuana.

Baltimore CityRAPE: Northeastern District -- A woman was walking in the 1600 block of E. North Ave. shortly after noon Sunday when a man with a knife forced her to accompany him to the grounds of the nearby Cliftmont Elementary School, where he raped her and robbed her of a wedding ring and a bracelet. After reporting the incident, the woman was taken to the Francis Scott Key Medical Center for treatment .CUTTING/ARREST: Western District -- A resident of the 1800 block of W. Lanvale St. was cut on the head, chest and fingers with a knife by a man she knows at her home Saturday.

Monument St. is listed in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being shot in the head by one of two men who entered his home Thursday. The victim was found by a relative who entered the house after seeing two strange men leave.* RAPE: Northern District -- Police were seeking a man who raped a resident of the 5500 block of Ivanhoe Ave. inside a house in the 5500 block of Alhambra Ave. Thursday.

A city police officer's body armor was credited with preventing his death, or serious injury, when he was shot yesterday afternoon while seated in his patrol car in West Baltimore.Officer John Andrezywski, 25, was providing backup during a sweep by the Western District drug unit in the 1600 block of Presbury St. around 2:30 p.m. when a high velocity, small caliber bullet shattered his patrol car's windshield.Officer Andrezywski, who has been on the force for seven months, drove back to the Western District station and reported the incident to superiors, then went home after his shift ended at 4 p.m.Lt.

Baltimore CitySHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 1700 block of N. Warwick Ave. was shot in the lower back about 8 p.m. Saturday when two men robbed him of $100 in the 2800 block of W. Lafayette Ave. The victim was listed in good condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center.BREAK-IN: Western District -- Nearly $2,000 worth of tennis shoes were stolen from the Kid's Foot Locker at the Mondawmin Mall Saturday. A store employee heard a back room burglar alarm go off at 6 p.m. and saw a youth running out of the store carrying two large boxes of the shoes.
