Services for Julian C. Cohen, who was a band leader in Baltimore before starting a scrap metal business in Bladensburg, will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Washington Hebrew Congregation.Mr. Cohen, who was 75, died Thursday of complications from Parkinson's disease at his home in Chevy Chase.He retired in 1973 as president of the Julian C. Cohen Salvage Corp., which he started in 1942.In the 1930s, he was pianist and the leader of the Ramblers, a band that played in dance halls and for private social gatherings and could be heard on radio in the Baltimore area.

Millard B. Fleischer, a retired business executive and World War II veteran, died of leukemia Monday at his home in Chevy Chase. He was 86. Born in Baltimore, he graduated from City College and attended the Johns Hopkins University, where he played lacrosse. He enlisted in the Army Air Forces at the outset of the war and served in the Pacific. An aerial gunner, he also chronicled the war as a combat correspondent for Yank magazine. After the war, he joined the Jos. M. Zamoiski Co., an appliance distributor in the Baltimore-Washington area.

BECKER, age 86, of Bethesda, MD beloved husband of Miriam Goldspinner Becker; adoring father of Phyllis (Duke) Zimmerman of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth (Arlene) Becker of Potomac, MD, Marjory (John) Becker-Lewin of Manhattan, NY, Richard (Nancy) Becker of Highland Park, IL and William (Melinda) Becker of Washington, DC; loving brother of David (Helen) Becker. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St., NW, Washington, DC at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 15. Interment Judean Memorial Gardens, Olney, MD. The family will be in mourning Monday and Tuesday at his late residence.

Tyser, a retired wine dealer who was an active benefactor and alumnus of the University of Maryland, will be held at 10:30 this morning at the Washington Hebrew Congregation.Mr. Tyser, who was 74 and lived in Washington for 40 years, died Wednesday of cancer at a hospital there.He retired in 1988 as chairman of the board of the Globe Distributing Co., a wholesale wine distributor in Virginia. Forty years ago, he had joined the firm when it was a liquor and wine distributor in the District of Columbia.
