On May 21, 2005, WARDELL; beloved father of Steven R. Weddington, Jeniece Nelson, Vicki Hathaway and Timothy A. Weddington. Also survived by five grandchildren; one sister, Emmer Rich; two brothers, Arthur Weddington and Nathaniel Covington and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Friends may visit on Tuesday 3 to 8 P.M. at Shiloh Baptist Church of Edgemere. On Wednesday the family will receive friends 10 to 10:30 followed by services. Interment Arbutus Memorial Park.

Wardell Jackson, a retired Bethlehem Steel Corp. maintenance worker, died Saturday of complications after brain surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was 72. Mr. Jackson was born in Hampton Hall, Va., and was raised by an aunt in Marion, Somerset County. After graduating from Woodson High School in Crisfield in 1954, he moved to Hempstead, N.Y., and took a job at Mitchell Airfield. He returned to Baltimore in 1956 and went to work at Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point as a maintenance millwright repairing the steel company's fleet of cranes.
