Chateau Builders, NV Homes, Patriot Homes and Stanley Martin Homes have opened models at Waverly Woods, a 680-acre planned community in the Woodstock area of Howard County. The Williamsburg Group, a custom builder, is the fifth firm constructing homes at Waverly Woods.Waverly Woods Development Corp. is the developer of the planned community, which will eventually contain an 18-hole golf course designed by Arthur Hill, 1,000 homes, an employment center and more than 300 acres of open space.

Martyn Lawrence-Bullard left his home in England for Los Angeles 20 years ago, determined to be a movie star. The acting thing didn't exactly work out. But in one of those delightful turnabouts in life, he is now the interior designer to the stars. Ed Norton, the Osbournes, Cher and Kid Rock top an eclectic list of clients. Lawrence-Bullard has made the Architectural Digest and Elle Decor lists of top designers. He is a principal on Bravo TV's "Million Dollar Decorators. " He has a new book, "Live, Love & Decorate," with a foreword by client Elton John.

Ryland Homes has opened three models and has 28 home sites available at its Wagner's Farm community in Harford County. The community of single-family homes in Bel Air offers five plans ranging from 2,500 to 3,800 square feet, with base prices from $219,990 to $261,990. The homes are on public water and sewer systems and come with gas heat and cooking. Standard features include a two- or three-car garage, walk-in closet in every bedroom and second-level bonus room. The Lakeland model has a base price of $280,000 for 3,106 square feet and includes a two-car garage.

Toll Brothers Inc., which bills itself as the nation's leading builder of luxury homes, has opened a model of the Elkins at South River Colony in Edgewater, where the firm is building 58 homes with gas heat, cooking and hot water.About 10 miles south of Annapolis, the Anne Arundel County community includes 500 acres of woods and lakes. Amenities include an 18-hole golf course, two recreation centers, swimming pools, tennis courts and biking and jogging trails.The Elkins is a 3,400-square-foot home that can be built with a Colonial, New England, Williamsburg, Chateau, Heritage, Provincial, Federal or Versailles facade.
