Vince McMahon may have unwittingly provided the answer to America's unemployment campaign. Apparently, you can show up to the job you were removed from months ago, pretend nothing has changed and go about your business. And as long as you suck up to the customers, they'll ignore the facts of the recent past. The corporate management of WWE has become a clustered mess of chaos that only seems to be brought up when it's convenient for the sake of storytelling. Is McMahon still the chairman of the board?

After Vince McMahon gave CM Punk the ultimatum of John Cena or Ryback as his Hell in a Cell opponent last week, one of the fine people I follow on Twitter alluded to it being a choice between "the devil Punk knows and the devil he doesn't know. " On tonight's edition of Raw, Punk himself used those very words when addressing the crowd. It was a clever tie-in with the pay-per-view poster that depicts Punk as a devil himself. Punk's desire to toy with the crowd cost him, though, as Vince McMahon told him he was taking too long to decide, and that McMahon would make the choice for him later in the show.

Tonight on a three-hour edition of Raw, Vince McMahon returns to WWE TV for the first time since October 2011.  This is a very interesting situation for many reasons. For one, ratings in the United States have taken a dip. Though Nielsen ratings are not a completely accurate measure of performance, it is often used by many as a measuring stick of success. In the past four episodes, Raw has seen this trend: June 4: 2.92 rating May 28 (Memorial Day): 2.72 rating May 21: 3.0 rating May 14: 2.9 rating The average rating for Raw in 2012, from the beginning of February to the end of April, in the U.S. is 3.16.

I didn't keep count, but it seemed to me that Vince McMahon's name was mentioned more times on TNA Impact on Thursday night than Samoa Joe's, Sting's and Kurt Angle's - combined. Angle and Jeff Jarrett made the WWE chairman the focus of their angle, and even Mick Foley took a shot at his former boss in his much-anticipated debut promo. The boss came back to Monday Night Raw, but it didn't really mean much. Tonight's entire episode had been hyped around the return of Vince McMahon to conduct a job evaluation for general manager John Laurinaitis. In the end, there wasn't much of a job evaluation at all. Instead, fans were treated to a variety of backstage segmets starring McMahon, ranging in quality from horrible and offensive to not very entertaining, and a show-closing angle featuring Big Show and John Cena.

Vince McMahon contorted his face and writhed in faux agony on the wrestling ring canvas as the raucous crowd howled in approval. Standing over the 58-year-old chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment was his smirking daughter, Stephanie, 27, reveling in a takedown of her father with a well-placed kick to his groin. Although he outwardly emoted intense pain, inside Vince had to be swelling with pride. That's because his daughter, like her brother, Shane, has followed him into the family business of professional wrestling, and this scene had played out just as it was scripted.

As the hell-raising, middle-finger-waving anti-hero of World Wrestling Entertainment, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin always does things on his own terms. Outside the scripted realm of professional wrestling, Austin shares that trait with his alter ego. For instance, when WWE approached Austin four years ago about writing his autobiography, he wasn't interested. At the time, WWE was the heavyweight champion of pop culture, and subsequent books by Mick "Mankind" Foley and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson each hit No. 1 on the New York Times best-seller list.

Ray Lewis is never shy when it comes to offering his opinion. But he joked that he had no plans to serve as the mediator between Joe Flacco and Derrick Mason, even though the two Ravens were involved in a heated confrontation on the sidelines this past week. "If you heard about a husband and wife fighting, would you say something to them?" Lewis said. "Sometimes whatever happens, man, it happens. You move on and keep going. It don't define nothing. It's just emotion. People go through things in the heat of battle.

Over the years, World Wrestling Entertainment chairman Vince McMahon has been compared to everyone from P.T. Barnum to Walt Disney, not to mention "a guy with horns and a pointy tail," he says. These days, the pro wrestling ringmaster is being mentioned in the same breath as Bob Hope. Following the legendary comedian's lead, McMahon and his band of men and women in spandex have made a commitment to entertaining the men and women in uniform overseas. Earlier this month, WWE traveled to the Middle East for the seventh consecutive year, visiting forward operating bases in Iraq over three days and putting on a wrestling show.
