Milton Wright boys basketball team made against Bel Air in 21 attempts. The Mustangs, however, made only 14 field goals and lost, 56-48.

Carmello Anthony Towson Catholic, basketball The junior forward averaged 33 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in four games last week for the Owls. In victories against Bullis and Cardinal Gibbons, Anthony registered a total 64 points, 23 rebounds and eight assists. And in the Good Counsel Tournament, Anthony recorded a combined 68 points, 23 rebounds and 10 assists in double-digit victories over Wilson (D.C.) and Good Counsel for the tournament championship. The 6-foot-7 tri-captain was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

After edging the Raiders, 66-64, on Dec. 12, the Lions came away with a 55-53 win Friday, with junior point guard Steven Cruz hitting the game-wining basket with 28 seconds left. Howard entered this week tied for first place in the county with Marriotts Ridge. 40 40 Points scored by Oakland Mills senior guard Miriam McKenzie in the Scorpions' 70-34 victory over Long Reach last Wednesday, setting a single-game scoring record for the program.
