A year has passed since a man apparently upset at the workers running the food pantry at an Ellicott City church gunned down a minister and an office worker, police say, before taking his own life. St. Peter's Episcopal Church marked the anniversary of the deaths of the Rev. Marguerite Mary Kohn and Brenda Brewington over the weekend with a gathering the Rev. Thomas Slawson described as "a celebration of life. " "Pretty good participation from representatives from the community," said Slawson, the church vicar.

A Baltimore man who was found suffering from a gunshot wound in Rosedale early Sunday morning had driven to the gas station where he collapsed onto the parking lot, Baltimore County police said Monday. Robert Wynder Jr., 23, of the 1700 block of Montpelier Ave., was shot in a different location before driving to a Shell gas station on Kenwood Avenue in a gold four-door Honda Civic, police said. Officers were called to the gas station at 4:28 a.m., where Wynder was suffering from at least one gunshot wound in front of the gas station.

Three men were shot in East Baltimore on Sunday night, and all are expected to survive their injuries, city police said. The men were shot in the 2900 block of East Monument Street after 7 p.m., police said. One man was shot in the hand, one in the abdomen and one shot in the leg, said Detective Vernon Davis, a police spokesman. Two of the victims left in a car and were stopped by police about a mile away, near the intersection of Orleans Street and North Duncan Street, and taken to a local hospital.

Baltimore County police are investigating a homicide after a victim in a Lansdowne double shooting died days later. James Townsend, 33, of the 2900 block of Bero Road, died Wednesday after suffering medical complications after he and a second man were shot April 27 outside Townsend's home by two suspects wearing masks, police said. The medical examiner ruled Townsend's death a homicide Thursday. The other male victim was treated and released from Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said.

The body of a man found in a pool in Randallstown has been identified as that of a disabled man who'd previously gone missing from a group home, Baltimore County Police said Thursday. James White, 64, had gone missing from the home in Owings Mills on Feb. 26, and his body was found in the pool in the 8100 block of McDonogh Road on April 28, police said. White was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of his disappearance, police had described White as being non-verbal and intellectually disabled.

A Linthicum firm is among several orthotics and prosthetics companies that will offer victims of the Boston Marathon bombing artificial limbs at no charge if their insurance doesn't cover all or some of the costs of the devices. Dankmeyer Inc., founded by an amputee who lost a leg in a childhood skating accident, joined with other firms Tuesday in announcing the Coalition to Walk and Run Again. The companies have agreed not to charge victims who provide a doctor's note proving they don't have insurance to cover the devices, which cost $8,000 to $60,000.

A second man has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of a Cheesecake Factory employee during an early morning fight near the Inner Harbor restaurant, Baltimore Police said Tuesday. The move to arrest Derek Schuler, 24, of Glen Burnie, contradicts previous statements from police that he had tried to diffuse the situation and wouldn't be arrested. According to new charging documents, Schuler had in fact joined in the April 7 fight that left 20-year-old Anthony Black bleeding profusely in front of the World Trade Center building downtown.

A woman who prosecutors said brought a rifle to the shooting of a Reisterstown teen pleaded guilty Monday to attempted first-degree murder and use of a gun, according to a spokesman for Howard County prosecutors. Howard County Circuit Court Judge Richard S. Bernhardt set a sentencing date of July 5, when prosecutors are expected to seek a 25-year sentence for Chiquita Sketers, 22, of Randallstown, according to spokesman T. Wayne Kirwan. The plea stems from a June 19, 2012, incident in which Sterling Randolph Watts, 15, was shot in the back of the head, but survived life-threatening injuries.

Baltimore Police have identified a man killed in a possible road rage incident over the weekend. The man who died was identified as Leon Cannady, 36, of the 2900 block of Clifton Avenue in Walbrook, according to police. At about 2:55 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the 2800 block of Erdman Avenue in Belair-Edison for a shooting, where they found an adult black male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 3:17 a.m. Police believe the incident may have been the result of road rage and are asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2100.

Really, Mr. Conaway! In his defense of dirt bike riders ("Don't penalize city kids for riding dirt bikes," April 25), Baltimore Circuit Court Clerk Frank M. Conaway Sr. places blame for this problem on the Baltimore Police Department and their vendetta against black youth. The inner city is rife with Mr. Conaway calls a "nuisance" while Baltimore drivers see it as a clear and present danger. I have slammed on my brakes numerous times and swerved into other lanes trying to avoid a collision.
