You can't beat Bob Fosse. The dance moves created by the late, legendary Broadway choreographer are so definitive that their interpretations by local choreographer Lori Struss are reason enough to see "Chicago," now being revived by Columbia's Silhouette Stages. The production, which runs at Slayton House until the end of the weekend, has more to offer than spiffy dance moves, however. There's also some fine acting, powerful singing and a story that's, well, pretty strange, but nonetheless interesting and very provocative.

On December 26, 2005, VELMA SHAW, beloved wife of James B. Shaw, Jr. She is survived by one son Ronald Harvey, Sr. and his wife Emma; grandchildren Michael Harvey, Ronald Harvey Jr., Reginald Harvey and Mrs. Troy Hines. Velma C. Seabrooks, a retired Social Security Administration district office manager, died of lung cancer Friday at her Catonsville home. She was 79. Born Velma Castine Cherry in Ahoskie, N.C., she was raised and educated in Washington, D.C., where she joined the Social Security Administration as a clerk. She moved to Baltimore in 1960 and became a district manager of offices in Baltimore and Towson. Mrs. Seabrooks received two Commissioner Citations for her work with the federal agency.

Carl F. Bessert, a retired Bethlehem Steel executive, died of pneumonia complications Aug. 27 at Edenwald Retirement Community in Towson. He was 86 and had lived in Guilford. Born in Conway, S.C., he was a 1937 Sparrows Point High School graduate who earned a degree at Clemson Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering College in 1942. He then joined the Army and served in Europe and the Pacific. He retired in 1946 as an Air Force Reserve lieutenant colonel. Mr.
