Anne Arundel County police arrested two men early yesterday in connection with dozens of commercial burglaries in the county over the past three months. John Francis Dunnigan, 25, of no fixed address was charged with 30 counts of burglary, police said. Michael Francis Arrington, 26, of Pasadena was charged with 15 counts of burglary, police said. Additional charges are possible, police said. County police began their investigation after a burglary at a salon Jan. 15, said Sgt. Shawn A. Urbas, a police spokesman.

An Anne Arundel County police officer shot a pit bull twice after it attacked him while he was responding to a domestic dispute Tuesday afternoon in Severn, police said. The dog was taken to two veterinary clinics, police said. At the second clinic, the dog was euthanized with the permission of its owner, police said. Officers Jay Wilson and Timothy Heinecke of the county's eastern police district went to the 1300 block of Monaco Drive at 2 p.m. after a woman called authorities to say she had been assaulted by her husband, said Sgt. Shawn A. Urbas, a police spokesman.

The 17-year-old son of a Drug Enforcement Administration special agent was arrested yesterday after he fired shots at his parents in their Crofton home and then fled to New Jersey, authorities said. Neither parent was hurt, police said. Thomas Reimann, 17, of the 1700 block of Shaftsbury Ave., was charged as an adult with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of using a handgun in the commission of a felony, said Sgt. Shawn A. Urbas, a spokesman for the Anne Arundel County police department.

The principal of North County High School was punched in the head while trying to stop a fight between three teenagers, who now are suspended and facing juvenile charges, authorities said yesterday. The three Glen Burnie girls - ages 13, 14 and 15 - argued at a bus stop near their school around 7 a.m. Wednesday, said an Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesman. The three were calm on the bus, but an anonymous caller had alerted school administrators that a fight might break out, said Sgt. Shawn A. Urbas, the spokesman.

A Brookeville man was killed early yesterday when he was struck by a car while running across Route 175 in Jessup, Anne Arundel County police said. About 5:15 a.m., Glenn Allan James, 20, was crossing the highway in a dimly lit area near the Baltimore-Washington Parkway overpass when he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by William J. Slifker Jr., 66, of Crofton, said police spokesman Sgt. Shawn Urbas. James suffered multiple fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Urbas said.

A Glen Burnie couple fatally shot over the weekend in an apparent murder-suicide had a history of domestic violence complaints, Anne Arundel police said yesterday. Police found Carolyn Dixon, 64, and Robert Dixon, 63, dead inside their home Saturday night, one day after officers were twice called to the home for disturbances, said Sgt. Shawn Urbas, a police spokesman. A history of police complaints that began last summer continued Friday afternoon, Urbas said, when authorities were called to the home.

A Glen Burnie couple fatally shot over the weekend in an apparent homicide-suicide had a history of domestic violence complaints, Anne Arundel police said yesterday. Police found Carolyn Dixon, 64, and Robert Dixon, 63, dead inside their home Saturday night, one day after officers were twice called to the home for disturbances, said Sgt. Shawn Urbas, a police spokesman. The documented history of police complaints began last summer, when Robert Dixon called officers to report that he and his wife were fighting inside their home.

A 9-year-old boy was fatally injured last night while operating an all-terrain vehicle at a relative's farm in southern Anne Arundel County, authorities reported. County police said a relative found the Honda ATV overturned about 7:30 p.m. and the boy - wearing a helmet - lying on the ground, said police spokesman Sgt. Shawn Urbas. The incident occurred on the property in the 4500 block of South Polling House Road in Harwood, police said. The boy, whose name was not divulged, was taken to Anne Arundel General Hospital and pronounced dead, Urbas said.

A Severn teenager was arrested and charged with attempted murder early yesterday after the stabbing of another girl during a fight in the Pioneer City neighborhood, Anne Arundel police said. Tamara Dinique Hall, 17, of the 1800 block of Dove Court also was charged with two counts of assault, reckless endangerment and other offenses in the incident, which left a 15-year-old seriously wounded, said police spokesman Sgt. Shawn Urbas. Hall was being held yesterday at the county detention center in lieu of $500,000 bail.

A female was shot and wounded at a high school football game in Anne Arundel County last night, prompting authorities to call off the game midway through the second half. County police said two male suspects were taken into custody shortly after the incident at Annapolis High School, which was playing rival Old Mill High School. The victim -- it was not clear last night whether she was a juvenile or an adult -- was taken by helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Sgt. Shawn Urbas, a police spokesman, said her wound apparently was not life-threatening.

Last week, Steven Dannenmann of Severn bested some of the worlds top poker players including last years champion Greg Raymer at the famed No Limit Texas Hold em Championship in Las Vegas. For the past two years, Dannenmann has participated in a low-key Tuesday-night poker game with friends in Anne Arundel County. Maryland law says that any card game where money is a prize is a misdemeanor and is punishable by up to six months in jail, said Anne Arundel police spokesman Shawn Urbas. Police investigate games that they hear about and take appropriate action which can be anything from a warning to an arrest depending on the circumstance, Urbas said.

An employee and assistant coach at North County High School accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl on school premises has been charged with child abuse and other offenses. Anne Arundel County police arrested Henry Mouzon, 33, of the 6300 block of Raritan Court in Columbia, after they executed three search warrants at his home Monday night, said Sgt. Shawn Urbas, a county police spokesman. Mouzon is charged with second-degree child abuse, third- and fourth-degree sex offense and perverted practice.

Woman struck by car in front of her home A Pasadena woman was injured Tuesday night when she was hit by a car in front of her home on Mountain Road, police said. About 9:45 p.m., authorities received a call about an injured pedestrian near Mountain Road and Bodkin Avenue, police spokesman Sgt. Shawn Urbas said. Officers found Jane Anne Tyler, 52, of the 4600 block of Mountain Road lying unconscious on the pavement, Urbas said. Witnesses told police that Tyler was sitting in the street when she was struck by a vehicle heading west on Mountain Road, he said.

Midshipman stabbed while breaking up brawl in Annapolis A Naval Academy midshipman was stabbed early Sunday as he tried to break up a brawl that erupted on a downtown street, Annapolis police said yesterday. Matthew David McBride, 21, of Ohio suffered a laceration to his left shoulder, said Officer Kevin Freeman, a city police spokesman. McBride was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he was treated and released, Freeman said. According to police reports, the fight occurred in the 100 block of Main St. about 2:20 a.m. McBride told police that he was struck with a sharp object as he tried to stop the fight; no witnesses reported seeing who stabbed McBride.
