Anne Arundel County Police are looking for two vehicles that might have been involved in a shooting early Sunday morning in Severn. Police were called to the 7800 block of Citadel Court at 1:16 a.m. Sunday for the report of a shooting. An adult male from Glen Burnie was found stumbling in the street and had been shot once in the upper body. The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with injuries not considered life-threatening. Witnesses said the shooting followed what police described as "some type of altercation" at a nearby party.

Police today continued to search for the killer of a South Baltimore man whose body was found last night lying on the front steps of a rowhouse on Washington Boulevard.Homicide Detective David Peckoo said Kevin Gambrill, 22, of the 1200 block of Bayard St., died of multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.About 12:45 a.m. today, police responding to a report of a shooting found Gambrill's body lying face down on the front steps of 919 Washington Blvd.Residents told police that they heard several gunshots coming from the front of 919 but did not see anyone flee from the scene.

A Baltimore County resident died early Saturday morning after he was shot Friday night at an Owings Mills apartment complex, police said Sunday. According to Baltimore County Police Lt. Robert McCullough, the shooting took place in the unit block of Straw Hat Road in the Morningside Apartments. The victim was Moses Baker, 22, a resident of an apartment at that address. According to McCullough, officers responded to a call at 11:07 p.m. Friday and found the victim lying just inside his apartment, shot in the upper body.

Police have charged a Glen Burnie man with murder in the death of his live-in girlfriend. Patrick Rhys, 43, of the 400 block of Summer Wind Way was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and first-degree assault in the death of Gloria Tongue, 49, of the same address. Tongue's body was found Friday afternoon with what appeared to be trauma to the upper body. An autopsy will determine the cause of death. Police say Rhys went to a cousin's home in the Parkville area of Baltimore County on Friday and told the cousin that he had killed a woman at his residence.

While his teammates were enjoying their only scheduled off day this spring, Orioles right-hander Jake Arrieta was getting his work in Monday afternoon at the club's minor league complex at Twin Lakes Park. Despite no Grapefruit League game Monday, it was Arrieta's day to throw, so he tossed four extended innings in the Orioles' Class-A minor league game against the Twins. Arrieta recorded 16 outs in the contest, which added extra outs at the end of innings, and displayed excellent command tallying 45 strikes in 63 total pitches.

Two women and a 14-year-old girl perished today when a fast-moving one-alarm fire raced through a brick rowhouse in the 3000 block of W. North Ave. in Walbrook.The two adults were believed to be 41 and 34, according to Fire Department spokesman Capt. Hector Torres. Their names were withheld pending notification of relatives.Five other people escaped uninjured, Capt. Torres said.Earlier today in southwest Baltimore, an elderly woman died and her husband was critically burned in another fire that investigators said started near a kerosene space heater and spread rapidly.

Police investigating death of woman in tub Baltimore County homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a bathtub by firefighters extinguishing a fire Sunday night in her Overlea apartment, authorities said yesterday. Evidence at the scene in the first block of Mopec Circle in the Taylor Park Apartments prompted investigators to label the fire "suspicious," said Sgt. Vickie Warehime, a Baltimore County police spokeswoman. She said investigators were seeking yesterday to verify the victim's identity.

A woman whose body was found in woods near the end of Dubois Road late Tuesday afternoon died of multiple stab wounds and cuts, a spokesman for the state medical examiner's office who would not identify himself said yesterday.The woman, who was in her 20s, had cuts and bruises on her upper body and on her hands, county police said.Officer Randy Bell, a police spokesman, said homicide detectives had tentatively identified the woman but that her name would not be released until it was confirmed through fingerprint records, probably today.

A man who police said was motivated by a dispute over his estranged wife walked into a direct-mail company Friday in eastern Baltimore County and fatally shot the owner, according to a colleague of the dead man who was a few feet away when the gunman opened fire. As employees fled through a side door, Dennis Leon McLaughlin, 45, walked out the building's main entrance, put the gun to his temple and fired, another witness said. McLaughlin was pronounced dead an hour later at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
