With a chance at upsetting the top-ranked team in the country, the Johns Hopkins women's basketball team seemed to play with more fear than fire. Rather than gunning for defending Division III national champion and current No. 1 Washington University of Missouri, the Blue Jays hesitated offensively and reacted late defensively in a 78-54 loss to the Bears yesterday in a University Athletic Association game at Goldfarb Gymnasium. It was Hopkins' first 20-point defeat since last year's loss to Southern Indiana, which was ranked No. 1 in Division II at the time.
