Patricia Robinson, who walked to her job at the Central Enoch Pratt Library for more than 40 years, died March 27 after collapsing at her West Baltimore home. She was 61. Family members said she was taken to Bon Secours Hospital. The cause has not been determined pending autopsy results. Born in Tucson, Ariz., she moved to Baltimore in 1946 and lived on Baker Street. A 1963 Forest Park High School graduate, she earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology from what is now Towson University.

ON June 3, 2006, JOHN W. ROY, MD, of Ellicott City, peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with melanoma. Born May 1, 1920 in Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of Augustus Roy and Celia Mc Gee, and grew up in Lennox,. He graduated from Syracuse University, and received his medical degree from Albany Medical School in 1946. He was a U.S. Navy Medical Officer from 1946 to 1949, and traveled the Mediterranean. His residency was at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City from 1949 to 1952.

Thomas A. Whiles, an artist and former oil company geologist, died of spinal melanoma Wednesday at his Towson home. He was 58. Mr. Whiles was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Midland, Texas. In 1969, he earned a bachelor's degree in music from North Texas State University in Denton. During the 1980s, he earned a bachelor's degree in earth geology, and in the 1990s, a bachelor's degree in mathematics, both from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa. In the 1970s, Mr. Whiles began working in the drafting department of Conoco Oil Co., and in the early 1980s took a similar post at Union Texas Petroleum.

On Wednesday, March 29, 2006, THOMAS A. WHILES; beloved husband of Rev. Clare Petersberger. Also survived by his children Richard Whiles, of Houston, TX and Megan Whiles and granddaughter Kinsey Hodge, both of Midland, TX. Also survived by his brother David Whiles, of Midland, TX. CLARE (November 19, 1917-October 29, 2005) of Carmel, CA, passed away peacefully in the home that she loved on October 29, 2005 . She was the beloved wife of the late Erwin Raabe to whom she was married for 60 years, loving mother of son, Ted of Pleasanton, CA; son and daughter-in-law Ken and Jane of Chicago, IL and cherished grandmother of Alex, Vanessa, Max, and Ethan.
