A driver was killed and his front-seat passenger critically injured in a car accident in Howard County Thursday afternoon, according to police. Neither had been identified as of Thursday evening. A man and woman in a second car involved in the accident were not injured. Police were first called to the 4300 block of Folly Quarter Road in western Ellicott City about 2 p.m. for an accident involving a 1991 Ford Taurus and a 1994 Ford Mustang. According to police, the Mustang was stopped in the single northbound lane of the roadway, preparing to turn left into a driveway when the Taurus came behind it, crossed the center line of the roadway and tried to pass it on the left.

Baltimore city police found the body of an unidentified man Sunday afternoon in the Central Park Heights neighborhood and are investigating the death as a homicide. Officers were called to the 3000 block Oakley Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. The victim, who was discovered inside a vacant home, had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, police said. A pre-kindergarten student at Northwood Elementary School in Baltimore brought a small gun to school Friday morning, according to school officials. A teacher discovered the weapon and notified administrators who called the school police. School police arrested the mother of the 5-year-old boy, Vernetta Holson-Anderson, 37, of the 6900 block of Blanch Road, at Northwood Elementary, according to a police document. Holson-Anderson was charged with giving a minor access to a firearm, reckless endangerment and having a handgun on her and in a vehicle, the documents said.

An unidentified man was struck and killed Tuesday morning by a southbound MARC train in the Rosedale area. The accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. just south of where the rail lines cross under I-695, Maryland Transit Administration officials said. The train stopped and the crew announced that a fatality had occurred, according to several passengers. Baltimore County police arrived at 7:18 a.m. and searched the area. They located the body near Schafers Lane and Northeast Creek Road, east of Pulaski Highway.

An unidentified body was found in the Middle River area Tuesday evening, Baltimore County police responded about 7:30 p.m. to a reported sighting of a body in a wooded area near the 1200 block of Bengies Road west of Eastern Boulevard. Police have yet to reveal the age or gender of the person and will likely wait for a cause of death determination from the Medical Examiner before proceeding with the case, police said. A 23-year-old man remains in critical condition at an area hospital after he was shot Monday in a northwest Baltimore neighborhood. The victim was found at 10:02 p.m. in the 5300 block of Bosworth Avenue near Gwynn Oak Avenue. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and lacerations to his face, police said. Baltimore County police are investigating a stabbing early Wednesday in Dundalk. An unidentified man was found with a knife wound at 12:50 a.m. near the intersection of Dunmanway and Liberty Parkway. The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital with injuries that are not life threatening, police said. Investigators said they have no suspect at this point and have yet to determine whether the assault was random or connected to a robbery or an argument. Two Brooklyn Park men were stabbed early Thursday at their home during an argument that involved several family members. Anne Arundel County Police responded at 2:37 a.m. to a report of domestic violence in the 5300 block of Fourth Street. Two victims, men aged 19 and 48, were suffering from stab wounds. Officers learned that, prior to calling police, several family members were involved in an argument and had ordered one male relative to leave the residence. The man left, but returned a short time later and forcibly entered the home, police said.

An unidentified man was killed Monday and another man was critically injured in the 3500 block of W. Mulberry St., Baltimore City police said. Police were called to the area, near the Mary E. Rodman Recreation Center, at 9:30 p.m. for a report of aggravated assault. They found the both men suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. The first victim was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died at 10:24 p.m., police said. The second victim, whose name and age were not released, remains in critical condition at an area hospital, police said.

Baltimore city police are investigating a shooting early Monday in the Park Heights area of Northwest Baltimore that left an unidentified man seriously wounded. The victim was found at 4:23 a.m. behind a gas station in the 4100 block of W. Garrison Ave., investigators said.
