Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.Southeastern DistrictRobbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a man, 42, of an undisclosed sum of money in the 800 block of E. Baltimore St. about 4 a.m. Sunday.Northwestern DistrictRobbery: Police continue to seek two men apparently posing as police officers who robbed a 21-year-old man of $300 as he sat in his parked car in the 5300 block of Beaufort Ave. about 10: 30 p.m. Friday. The victim told police the men displayed badges before demanding his money.

Police reports in Baltimore city and county: Southeastern Baltimore Assault: Police arrested a man about 7 p.m. Thursday moments after he was seen spraying the windows of moving vehicles with a chemical irritant on East Pratt Street near the Perkins Homes. One female motorist suffered a minor eye injury when sprayed. Ground units, aided by the crew of a police helicopter, captured the man on South Caroline Street near Gough Street. Assault charges were pending. Northeastern Baltimore Arrests: Two men were arrested shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, moments after a man was fatally shot in the 3400 block of Cliftmont Ave. The two have been charged with unlawful possession of a handgun.

Baltimore City Western District Shooting: A man in his early 20s was standing in the 1800 block of W. Lafayette Ave. about 3 p.m. yesterday when an unknown gunman approached and shot him several times in the upper torso. The gunmen fled. The victim was taken to Bon Secours Hospital, where last night he was in critical condition. No arrest had been made. Southern District Robbery: A man, 19, was in the 200 block of S. Heath St. about 11 p.m. Saturday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of a pager valued at $80. Theft from vehicle: Someone entered the trunk of a 1996 Cadillac parked in the 400 block of W. Pratt St. and stole a briefcase, two coolers and a wallet containing an undisclosed sum of money Saturday.

A fellow who needed money for an operation walked into the American Political Items Collectors (APIC) convention in Anaheim, Calif., last August with a couple of old campaign buttons to see what he could get for them. The convention was called to order over the public address system and, in keeping with an APIC tradition, the buttons were auctioned, right then and there. One was an extremely rare button picturing John W. Davis and his running mate, Charles Bryan, the 1924 Democratic candidates.
