A man with a sawed-off rifle robbed a Glen Burnie gas station Tuesday of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.The gunman walked into Uncle Marvin's Oasis in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway about 12: 30 p.m. and demanded money. The cashier opened the register and got down on the floor while the gunman reached across the counter and removed the money, police said.The gunman fled in a light blue car that looked like an Oldsmobile Cutlass, police were told.The man was described as black with a medium complexion, in his late 30s, about 5 feet 10 and 175 to 200 pounds, with a medium build and a beard.

In Baltimore City Police find body of man in vehicle parked in northwest A sport utility vehicle sought in connection with an undisclosed crime was found last night parked near a northwest intersection -- and in it, police found the body of a man who had been shot in the head, authorities said. Police said two detectives driving along Gwynns Falls Parkway about 9 p.m. spotted the red late-model GMC legally parked near the 2200 block of Roslyn Ave. Its doors were locked, and police had to force open a door to reach the body.

A gunman in a white Nike baseball cap and mirrored sunglasses robbed a Severna Park bank of an undisclosed amount of money yesterday.County police said the bandit walked into the First National Bank in the 500 block of Benfield Road just after 2 p.m., pulled a gun and demanded money.A teller handed money over, and the man ran out with it.Police had no detailed description of the gunman. The health insurance giant UnitedHealthcare plans to acquire Baltimore-based XLHealth Corp., bolstering the company's portfolio of Medicare Advantage plans. The plans focus on Medicare recipients with chronic illnesses or other special needs. XLHealth's Care Improvement Plus plan focuses on the underserved. XLHealth, currently owned by management and affiliates of MatlinPatterson Global Opportunities Partners III LP, now serves about 113,000 Medicare Advantage members in Maryland and five other states and plans to expand to six more states next year.

Two of Baltimore's oldest dairies are consolidating: Cloverland Farm Dairy has purchased Green Spring Dairy.The acquisition, for an undisclosed price, combines the operations of Cloverland, which was founded in 1929, with its longtime competitor, which was started eight years later.In recent years, Green Spring was owned by Dairy Enterprises Inc. of New Jersey. Ralph C. Kemp, Cloverland's president, said the company is happy to bring the ownership back to Baltimore.Cloverland has about 200 workers at its Monroe Street plant and 13 at a smaller establishment in Salisbury.

A man selling produce at a Westminster roadside stand was robbed at gunpoint Saturday afternoon, according to Carroll County Sheriff's Deputies. The employee with Kern's Produce had been selling produce from the back of his pick-up truck and was seated in the cab taking a break between customers when a man with a gun walked up to the passenger side of the vehicle parked in the 400 block of E. Main Street, deputies said. The man pressed a dark colored handgun against the man's neck while demanding money at about 1:20 p.m., deputies said.

A Chick-fil-A in Abingdon was robbed by two gunmen Saturday morning, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said. The men approached workers in the parking lot about 5 a.m. and forced their way inside the restaurant, in the 400 block of Constant Friendship Blvd. They forced a manager to open a safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money, the sheriff's office said. The men were seen leaving the scene in a black or dark-colored Chevy Cobalt, the sheriff's office said. No one was injured in the robbery.

A man, armed with a handgun, robbed a Glen Burnie restaurant Wednesday evening. Employees of the Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway told police a man, in a black ski mask, entered the business at about 9:30 p.m., displayed the gun and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running toward Furnace Branch Road, police said. Officers canvassed the area, but did not locate the suspect.
