Two men were shot in the head in Baltimore on Sunday in three separate shootings that left three people wounded. A 33-year-old man attending a birthday party on Saturday on the 5300 block of Cordelia Avenue in Northwest Baltimore got in a dispute with someone outside a home and was shot once in the head, Baltimore police Sgt. Anthony Smith said. Police found him lying in a lawn at 12:40 a.m. Sunday and transported him to an area hospital. He was listed in critical but stable condition on Monday, Smith said.

Two men were shot Monday morning just off Pennsylvania Avenue, one of whom died Monday evening at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police were called to the 600 block of Pitcher St. at about 11:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting, and found a 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head in the 1500 block of Shields Place, in the Upton Courts complex, according to Sgt. A 7-year-old boy was flown to Johns Hopkins Children's Center after being attacked by two dogs in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County police said. Police were called to the 3400 block of Barnsley Court around 5:30 p.m. after a woman called, screaming for help, said Lt. James Fredericks. He said police arrived within two minutes and found the woman's two American bulldogs attacking the boy, who Fredericks said is the woman's nephew. Fredericks said the officer shot one dog that was still attacking the boy, then the second turned on the officer and was also shot.

Two men were shot in separate incidents in Baltimore on Wednesday night, according to city police. About 8 p.m., police were called to an area hospital after a man arrived there with a gunshot wound, said Detective Jeremy Silbert, a police spokesman. Police learned hours later from interviewing the victim that he was shot in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, in the city's Seton Hill neighborhood, Silbert said. The man was wounded in the leg and was receiving treatment, Silbert said.

City police are investigating a double shooting Monday night in the Mondawmin neighborhood that has left a man and a woman hospitalized. Both victims are expected to survive, police said. Officers, responding at 9:45 p.m. to reports of gunfire, found a 26-year-old woman suffering from a wound to her leg. She told police she had been shot in the 2000 block of McKean Avenue, near Walbrook Avenue. While investigating the incident, officers were alerted to a second shooting victim in the neighborhood.

Two men were killed, two others were shot and a fifth man was stabbed on Halloween night in the city. About 8:16 p.m., police found a 32-year-old man shot in the torso near his home in the 5300 block of Carriage Court in the Westgate neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore, just south of North Bend Elementary school. William Simmons, the victim, died just before 9 p.m. at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police said robbery during a possible drug transaction appears to be the motive.

Welcome to season two of New Girl! The perfect way to start off the season: A bathroom encounter between Nick and Jess. (I mean after the way he opened the door during the season finale to sultrily say "Hey," we all know something will inevitably happen between them). However there was no sexy in the scene, just Nick screeching through, "Groove is in the Heart. " That got me thinking: What songs would Winston and Schmidt sing in the shower? Winston, a lover of musicals, would sing "Beauty School Dropout" from "Grease," in my opinion, and step out of the shower with a towel turban just as he hit that last high note.

A man and woman were shot inside an Ellicott City spa Saturday night during a suspected domestic dispute, police said. About 7 p.m. a man entered the Nail and Hair Care Spa in the 1500 block of Richards Valley Road and confronted and shot the victims, according to a statement from Howard County police spokesman Bryce Buell. The woman worked at the salon and the male victim was her acquaintance, he said. They were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and are in critical condition, Buell said.
