After finishing his Legends of the Summer set with Justin Timberlake, Jay Z left M&T Bank Stadium in a black Cadillac Escalade and headed to Mirage Nightclub for the concert's official after-party, according to the building owner Anthony Ilkhon. The "Picasso Baby" rapper entered with a "pretty huge" entourage and headed straight to the bar, Ilkhon said, where he proceeded to order 10 bottles of Armand de Brignac champagne (also known as Ace of Spades) and 10 bottles of D'Usse cognac (who sponsored the after-party)

R&B singer Tremaine "Trey Songz" Neverson has just fallen victim to the oldest touring musician cliche: He's not quite sure what city he's in. "Where am I? That's a good question," he says over the phone line and then, after a pregnant pause: "Milwaukee. " But it's hard to blame him, given the whirlwind year he's having. His fourth album, "Passion, Pain & Pleasure," is due out Sept. 14, but urban radio is still spinning "Neighbors Know My Name," the fifth single from 2009's "Ready," around the clock.

J. Cole shocked a lot of industry heads and rap fans with the release of "Cole World: The Sideline Story," the debut LP he mostly produced himself. It hit No. 1 on Billboard its first week, and since hitting shelves Sept. 27, the album has sold more than 300,000 copies. He has no major singles or high-profile cameos; Cole merely built a following from the ground-up, with strong mixtapes and opening tour slots. Consider his show Thursday night at Baltimore Soundstage part of the earned victory lap. Cole is the type of rapper capable of writing radio-friendly hits ("Can't Get Enough" feat.

Usher is once again dominating the charts with another club anthem, " DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love," which plays up his euro-pop side. The R&B singer's outsized ambitions will be on display Wednesday, when he brings his OMG Tour to 1st Mariner Arena . Usher's album "Confessions" was the last to have sold more than 10 million copies in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America. His follow-up, "Raymond v. Raymond," which covered his recent divorce, disappointed critically and commercially when it was released in March; it's stalled at about a million copies sold.

Frank Ocean's soon-to-be-rereleased album, Nostalgia, Ultra. , is a grower. When I first heard it in March, it seemed like a better-than-average debut a few rare flashes of brilliance. But I wasn't bowled over. For every slick no-brainer ("Novacane," "Songs For Women"), there was a strange, off-putting decision lurking ("Strawberry Swing" samples Coldplay; "American Wedding" inexpicably reinterprets the Eagles' "Hotel California"). But the more time spent with Nostalgia , the more likeable Ocean becomes as a singer, and more importantly, a storyteller.

The hype surrounding J. Cole's debut album,  Cole World: The Sideline Story , is hitting a new gear, with only 12 days before it drops. On Wednesday, he dropped a video and a song - the vibrant clip for his radio-friendly-but-still-good single "Can't Get Enough" featuring Trey Songz and a rap-nerd's dream collaboration "Mr. Nice Watch" with his Roc Nation boss, Jay-Z. The "Can't Get Enough" video is standard fare, bolstered by the natural beauty of Barbados and a cameo from Rihanna.
