Livestock trailers and carnival rides have arrived, the big tents have been pitched and the grounds are ready for today's opening of the 2013 Harford County Farm Fair. The fair runs Thursday through Sunday at the Harford County Equestrian Center on Tollgate Road in Bel Air. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Daily admission is $8 for adults, $4 for kids ages 5 to 11 and children under 4 get in free. Senior citizens are admitted for $5 on Thursday only.

A jackknifed tractor trailer on Interstate 95 South near the Route 100 interchange caused major delays Thursday afternoon, according to the State Highway Administration. The major highway, which was down to one lane for approximately two hours, was reopened just after 4 p.m., according to the SHA.  A crash involving a flat-bed truck and a tractor trailer south of the Route 100 interchange caused the trailer to jackknife on to a grassy area on the right side of the highway, according to the SHA. On Thursday morning, an accident involving two tractor trailers on Route 100 caused major delays, closing all but one lane during the morning commute.

Aberdeen Tykeem A. Bacon, 24, of the first block of Mount Royal Avenue, was charged Wednesday with possessing marijuana and drugs with intent to distribute. Montaze D. Berry, 23, of the 4800 block of Seven Trail Circle, was charged Thursday with violating a protective order. Wayne E. Carter, 52, of the 100 block of New County Road, was charged Friday with second-degree assault. Vandalism was reported Thursday in the 800 block of Matthews Avenue. A house was vandalized Thursday in the 4500 block of Lesh Lane.

An accident involving two tractor trailers and a car that shut down all lanes on Interstate 95 South near Arbutus for four hours on Thursday morning is gradually being cleared, as one of four southbound lanes and one of two southbound shoulders have opened, according to the state Department of Transportation. One tractor trailer overturned on the roadway during the accident, and emergency responders called to the scene about 4:09 a.m., transported the driver of the car to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to a Baltimore County dispatcher.

A Baltimore man was killed on the inner loop of Interstate 695 in Pikesville early Friday morning after his vehicle collided with a tractor trailer, he was ejected and then struck by another vehicle, Maryland State Police said. A preliminary investigation showed at about 12:32 a.m., Jason Sukun Park was driving along the inner loop between Park Heights Avenue and Stevenson Road when his silver 2008 Honda veered into a tractor trailer driven by Brian David Olson, of California, police said.

Four firefighters and three civilians were injured early Wednesday morning when a tractor trailer and a fire engine collided and flipped over a dividing wall on Interstate 495 in Prince George's County, according to fire officials. The accident temporarily closed all lanes of the highway in both directions as emergency responders reached the scene and began treating the injured, and some lanes remained closed hours later. About 2:50 a.m., the fire engine was responding to another accident on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway just south of Route 50 when it was rear-ended by the tractor trailer, said Chief Alicia Francis, a Prince George's Fire Department spokeswoman.

A man was critically injured in Laurel on Friday morning when his car veered off Interstate 95 and crashed into the rear of a parked tractor trailer, Maryland State Police said. According to State Police Sgt. Anthony Riley, the driver was traveling northbound when his vehicle left the road, drifted onto the shoulder and struck the tractor trailer, which was parked on the shoulder. The driver's vehicle became trapped underneath the tractor trailer; fire and rescue officials removed the motorist from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life hydraulic rescue tool, Riley said.

A tractor trailer overturned in a median on Interstate 695 near Hollins Ferry Road in Baltimore County about 10 p.m. Wednesday, shutting down lanes on both the inner and outer loops because of a fuel spill, officials said. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the Maryland State Police. No other cars were involved. Several lanes surrounding the median were closed as hazardous materials teams tried to clean up the fuel. The road remained closed as of 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Interstate 83 in Baltimore County was cleared Tuesday morning after an accident occurred in the southbound lanes, past exit 24 to Belfast Road. Northbound lanes, near Mount Carmel Road, also appear to be cleared after a tractor trailer caught fire, according to the state highway administration. In Anne Arundel County, state highway officials reported a crash on Interstate 97 south at Maryland Route 32. MTA reported no major delays to MARC service.

A truck overturned in an accident involving an Anne Arundel County police vehicle on southbound Interstate 97 near Route 100 on Saturday sent both drivers to the hospital, officials said. No injuries were listed in the accident report, but the driver of the truck was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and the police officer to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center as a precautionary measure, county police Lt. Glenn Shanahan said. The accident, which is under investigation, blocked several lanes of traffic for about an hour until 4 p.m., officials said.
