President Bush was in Catonsville yesterday to announce that he is seeking a $600 million increase in financing for the Head Start program for pre-school children. The California Assembly has approved a bill that would restrict welfare benefits to newcomers to the state. The bill would limit benefits in the first year to the same amount the person would have received from the state from which they moved. The state says it will save money by removing any incentive to move to California for higher welfare benefits.The Evening Sun would like to know what you think. The Maryland Court of Appeals has approved new rules for print, radio and television advertising by lawyers. When the rules go into effect July 1, celebrity endorsements by non-lawyers will not be allowed, attorneys will not be able to mention their won-lost records, and ads saying clients won't have to pay if their lawyer loses the case will be prohibited.The Evening Sun would like to know what you think.
