Two Baltimore County youths have been arrested after police said they stole a car in Ellicott City, drove into Baltimore County and crashed into a pickup truck.Bill Toohey, a Baltimore County police spokesman, said two Lansdowne boys -- ages 15 and 12 -- stole the 1994 Plymouth Horizon from the 3600 block of Hollow Fields Court in Ellicott City around 4: 45 p.m. Wednesday.Toohey said the juveniles' joy-ride through the southern portion of Baltimore County ended when their car went through a stop sign on Hollins Ferry Road at Bero Road in Lansdowne, crashing into a Dodge pickup truck that was moving through the intersection.

The cat burglar who police believe is responsible for breaking into at least a dozen homes since June in the Hillendale and Overlea areas and stealing $20,000 in property is still eluding police, despite patrols and undercover officers.Last month, detectives used evidence taken from the homes and pawn shop records to name as a suspect Anthony R. Westmoreland, whose last known address was in the 1500 block of Taylor Ave. in Parkville, according to police spokesman Bill Toohey.Westmoreland has been charged on warrants with breaking into 11 homes.

A father and son were arrested yesterday and charged with homicide in the 1990 shooting of a 17-year-old girl, according to Baltimore County police. The two were also charged with wounding an older woman, identified as the girl's mother, in the incident that police described as part of a scheme to collect insurance money.Donald Williams, 52, was arrested at his home in first block of Franklin Valley Circle in Reisterstown, said police spokesman Bill Toohey. His son, Maurice Bernard Williams, 29, was arrested at his home in Lynchburg, Va., Toohey said.

A 17-year-old Woodmoor youth was stabbed to death late Saturday after leaving a party attended by about 200 people, Baltimore County police reported yesterday. During the party at a house in the 1900 block of Featherbed Lane near Woodlawn, police received several calls reporting arguments and noise that, over several hours, brought more than a dozen police to the dwelling, said Bill Toohey, a police spokesman. Toohey said the partygoers - ranging in age from 11 to the early 20s - cooperated for the most part with officers' requests to reduce the noise.

Baltimore County police are asking for help locating items that were stolen from a woman who was beaten and stabbed in her Pikesville home over the weekend.Police are looking for a suspect in the attack on Barbara Jean Connell, 42, who was found by her roommate Saturday afternoon on the living room floor of their home in the 700 block of Silver Creek Road. Connell was in fair condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, a spokeswoman said.Connell's 1995 Ford Probe was taken but was recovered a short time later in the 3900 block of Milford Mill Road, said police spokesman Bill Toohey.

Baltimore County police fatally shot a man last night after he led them on a chase through a residential neighborhood near Essex, crashed his car and shot at pursuing officers, said police spokesman Bill Toohey. Police were called about a disturbance at the Silver Dome lounge on Middleborough Road twice last evening. The second time, about 8:30 p.m., they encountered a man brandishing a gun, Toohey said. The man drove off in a car pursued by three police cars. He turned from Back River Neck Road onto a neighborhood street, lost control of his car and crashed into a parked vehicle.

Baltimore County police arrested and charged three more men in the robbery of a McDonald's restaurant in Cockeysville this week, including one who had once worked there, a police spokesman said yesterday. Edward James Burgos Tilton, 22; Kristopher Thomas Horner, 23; and James Lawrence Stritehoff, 25, were arrested in different locations in the county Thursday, said police spokesman Bill Toohey. Charges against Tilton include seven counts of armed robbery, and charges against Horner and Stritehoff include one count each of armed robbery, he said.

Baltimore County police said yesterday the badly decomposed body of a man found in the attic of a vacant house in Hedgesville, W.Va., is believed to be that of a suspect in a 1996 killing in Middle River.Police spokesman Bill Toohey said the department is awaiting positive identification, but it believes the body found Tuesday by a man cleaning the house is that of Wayne Thomas Mann, whose last known address is in the 1000 block of Mohrs Lane in Middle River. A shotgun was near the body.After the body was discovered, West Virginia state police notified county police, said Toohey, who was unable to say why West Virginia police thought the body was that of Mann, 26.Mann is charged in a warrant with first-degree murder in the March 1996 shotgun slaying of Joseph A. Conti, 25, a neighbor.

A rookie Baltimore County police officer was suspended without pay yesterday and jailed after he and another man were accused of raping a woman in the officer's Owings Mills apartment, police said.Kyle Alexander Wilson, 28, was charged with first-degree rape, said police spokesman Bill Toohey. Wilson had been an officer for less than a year and was still on probation, Toohey said. He was a patrol officer in the Woodlawn precinct.According to police documents, two women and a man arrived at Wilson's apartment early Tuesday morning.

Charges were pending against three women after a fight involving a female student at Woodlawn High School triggered two other fistfights yesterday in the school cafeteria, Baltimore County police said. A 40-year-old woman apparently went to the school with her daughter and niece, both 18, to settle a dispute with a student there, said Bill Toohey, a county police spokesman. They found the student and a fight ensued, he said. An officer assigned to the school was able to break up the fight quickly, Toohey said.
