It's movie night and we're still minus our regular theme song. I'm bitter. There's popcorn throwing and an opening dance number with a couple of Marilyn Monroe references: The iconic dress over the exhaust grate from "The Seven Year Itch" and the pink dress number (copied by Madonna for her "Material Girl" video) from "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. " Then there are baseball players? Because she married Joe DiMaggio? I don't know. These things don't have to make sense. Tom Bergeron introduces Kevin Hart, who gets an escort from a couple of the female pros and a quick dance before going to the judges table.

Siriano, Conrad to create gowns for Emmy night Project Runway winner Christian Siriano and The Hills star Lauren Conrad are creating gowns for the Emmy Awards on Sept. 21. Siriano's selection as designer for one of the so-called "trophy girls" who hand over Emmy statues to presenters was announced yesterday. The TV academy previously said that Conrad, who's started her own clothing line, will be dressing a trophy bearer. Siriano will have Project Runway company, with the show's Heidi Klum serving as one of five reality show hosts who are to emcee the awards.

James Maslow enters wearing a tuxedo with no shirt, because he's no dummy and neither is Peta Murgatroyd. Mark Ballas enters with his right arm in a sling - wonder what that means for his dance with Candace Cameron Bure tonight? Candace (with a ridiculous topknot), still, after this many weeks of competition, looks terrified.  Head judge Len Goodman is trying to tell host Tom Bergeron what's going to happen tonight, but the audience is so loud I have no idea what was said. Oh, good, looks like there's no guest judge tonight.

Tonight on "DWTS," Victor and Lindsay are in jeopardy, but Jacoby and Karina live to dance another week. The show starts with a performance by someone Tom Bergeron assures me has been quite successful and has sold many records. His name is Olly Murs and I've never heard of him. It's weird how this show can go from making me feel young, hauling out older acts like Huey Lewis and Stevie Wonder, and then make me feel ancient with the performers I've no clue about it. Kellie & Derek are safe, as are Aly & Mark.

Tonight is the first night the couples will do two full dances (where one is not a dance-off or a group dance). During the staircase introductions, Jacoby is wearing a cowboy hat. I can't wait to see what that means for their routine. Also, today is Tom Bergeron's birthday and why this isn't a national holiday, I don't know. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Round One Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy Foxtrot Val is trying to ignite Zendaya's competitive spirit, but her smile always makes him chuckle.

I'm not sure how many of my readers regularly watch ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," but I suspect that number will dwindle now that Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward is joining the cast for the show's 12th season . Well, unless you're hoping Ward will hammer host Tom Bergeron on a crack-back block. It was different last year when Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, the NFL's class clown, went "Dancing. " The outspoken receiver formerly known as Chad Johnson has hit a nerve or two with his verbal attacks on the Ravens in the past, but most fans seem to enjoy his act from afar.

"DWTS" showed signs of diversification tonight with a fun performance by a guest krumper. That's standard fare for Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance?" (love that show!) but not what I'm used to on a ballroom show. Another guest performer, Kelly Clarkson, joked about her inability to dance and that she'd turn the show into a comedy. Host Tom Bergeron countered with, "We could teach you. " Hmm, foreshadowing season 14? My anticipated bottom three were: Carson Kressley, Chaz Bono and Nancy Grace.

It's "Latin Night" and at the top of the show, Tom tells us the stars will have "a chance to dance for immunity. " I do not like that sound of that one little bit. Mark Ballas is wearing a color-coordinated fedora. Guess how I feel about that. Also, I'm going to turn into an old biddy and say that Zendaya's lip color is too dark for a young woman her age. There's a new twist this week where whichever couple scores highest on their regular dance will get “immunity” and the other couples will then dance to add extra points to their scores.
