In the grand tradition of "The Michael Richards Show" and "Cursed" - in other words, dreadful sitcoms for the new millennium - comes "Three Sisters" tonight on NBC. As you watch this sorry series about three grown sisters and the man to whom one of them is married, you'll wonder how the network that seemed to hold the patent on smart sitcoms in the 1980s and 1990s with shows such as "Cheers" and "Seinfeld" could go so wrong so fast in comedy development....

I was 4 years old when I was picked up after a minor fall and had my tears brushed away with the words "You'll be OK. You'll heal long before you grow up and get married. " But by the time I reached puberty, that promise seemed to only be for my three sisters. I had come to the realization that I was gay, and gay people were not even thinking about getting married when I turned 12 in 1968. I hadn't even yet learned a word for being attracted to another boy. As a culture we have come a long way since then.

It takes a real woman to play The Woman in Black. As director Irene Lewis set out to cast the formidable role of Masha in Center Stage's production of Chekhov's The Three Sisters, she knew that the authenticity the role requires would be hard to find. "Chekhov is one of the greatest writers of the 20th century," she says. "His work is highly dense - and Masha was written for Chekhov's wife, so it's a revered role." Masha, the middle of the play's three sisters, is one of the most coveted parts in all of theater.

This episode starts with too much drama. I really can't keep up. Let's see … Kourtney and Scott are not sleeping in the same bedroom, surprise. (However, in real life, Kourtney is clearly on baby #2.) Then, Kim and Khloe “are so competitive with one another” according to Kourtney, and the three sisters ultimately get into a conversation about it. More to come later. While we're here, let's also pretend that the Dubai episode all of a sudden informs the general population that Kris Hump and Kim Kardashian weren't meant to be together.

The Guiffre triplets did everything together growing up. They shared the same friends, went to the same parties and played the same sport, field hockey. So it only made sense that the identical triplets from Frederick would all graduate from college on Saturday. There was just one catch. Danielle and Juliann would cross the stage together at McDaniel College. But the third Guiffre, Ally, broke away from the triad to attend Hood College in Frederick. Their mother, Patty Hardy, panicked when she realized that both colleges planned to hold their ceremonies on the same day. "I asked each one of the girls which one I should go to," she recalled with a laugh.
