POLICE LOG* Harper's Choice: 5000 block of Southern Star Terrace: Two car phones and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from a gray 1988 Nissan Maxima between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday. The thief entered the car through an unlocked trunk. The property was valued at $633, police said.

Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Baltimore City Northeastern District Armed robbery: An 18-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 3800 block of Brehms Lane. The robber, who wore a white T-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap, took $150. Northern District Burglary: A homeowner in the 3400 block of Guilford Terrace reported that someone forced open the side door to his home between 8:50 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday.

POLICE LOG* Long Reach: 8900 block of Footed Ridge: A 1991 Pontiac Grand Am stolen early last Tuesday morning was recovered in Anne Arundel County, police said.8500 block of Window Latch Way: A TV was stolen Friday after a thief entered a home by breaking a window. Police said the residence also was ransacked.

A 23-year-old Carroll County man who stole tools, air compressors and other items from more than a half-dozen Ellicott City garages over a three-month period was sentenced yesterday to 18 months in jail and ordered to pay nearly $6,000 in restitution to seven homeowners. Daniel A. Carper of the 6200 block of Middlebury Road, Keymar, was feeding a heroin addiction when he walked into the garages, whose doors usually were left open, to take the equipment, prosecution and defense attorneys said yesterday in Howard County Circuit Court.

The thief entered through a rear door.Burglary: A compact disc player and 30 compact discs, all valued at $700, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 2300 block of Aiken St. The thief entered through a basement door.Rape: Three men raped a woman Tuesday afternoon at a house in the 700 block of E. 23rd St. The woman fled the house and was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

A thief broke a glass front door at 12: 30 a.m. Thursday, set off a business alarm and stole unknown items.Benson Drive: 8300 block, Owen Brown. An intruder entered a business at 5 a.m. Thursday, pried open the portable automated teller machine and stole an unknown amount of cash.
