Musical revue focuses on changes and choices Beginning tomorrow, Theatre on the Hill presents the Maryland premiere of Songs for a New World, a musical revue by Jason Robert Brown, the Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist of Parade (1999). A 16-song cycle performed by a cast of four, the revue, which focuses on changes and choices, was inspired by Brown's move to New York at age 21. The wide-ranging songs, however, take place not only in New York, but also in settings ranging from a 1492 ship to the North Pole.
