ALLISON WEXLERSchool: Wilde Lake HighHometown: ColumbiaAge: 18Allison graduates this spring with a 4.0 grade-point average and was co-president of Tapestry, the school's literary magazine, and of Students for a Better World, an environmental group.She was picked for Yes, Howard County, a seven-week environmental program in Virginia that teaches students to do community projects.She plays varsity soccer, varsity lacrosse and was captain of the indoor track team last year. She's a National Honor Society member and a Maryland Distinguished Scholar semifinalist.

He was captain of this year's varsity soccer team, which lost in the first round of the playoffs. He has played soccer since age 7 and has been a goalie since he was 11.He's a Maryland Distinguished Scholar finalist. He also belongs to the Math Team and helped tutor students in geometry, calculus and physics, among other subjects.He earned an engineering medal from George Washington University's engineering and applied science program.

She was a student representative to the Board of Education last year."I thought it was a good way to get around and meet people," she said. "I'm interested in politics. It helps to get involved now."She is editorial page editor of the school newspaper, the Shield, and is active in peer mediation.

He is a budding actor at Howard, where he has been in more than a half-dozen plays and dramas, most recently "Barefoot in the Park."Acting is not the senior's only forte. He's a straight-A student, a Maryland Distinguished Scholar Finalist and a Hugh O'Brien Leadership Award recipient. He leads the school's madrigal group and belongs to the National Honor Society.Throughout high school, he has been involved with student government, class government, French Club and Drama Club.
