The Baltimore Sun will conduct its Athlete of the Year Luncheon Thursday, June 1 at the Towson Sheraton. Each student chosen as an athlete of the week for the 1994-95 season is invited to the luncheon along with his/her parents and coach for the sport for which he/she was chosen. Invitations for the luncheon will be mailed to the schools. If there are any questions contact Sam Davis at (410) 332-6534.

LEARNING TO play a musical instrument well takes years of hard work, dedication and lots of practice.For some of Liberty High School's 80 band members, being named to the 2000 All County High School Band is their just reward.Named to the 2000 All County Band were: Kelly Tasch, Katie Kinsey, Laurie Carmedy, Kristen Trumpler and Chrissy Cave, flute; Catie Sirko, oboe; Diane Pandolfini, Laura Miller, Jenny Dick, Katie Chopper and Ashley Hoffman, clarinet; Sarah Tracey, alto clarinet; Anna Novak, bass clarinet; Lindsey Rankin, contra clarinet; and Charlton Hughes, bassoon.

The Baltimore Sun will stage its annual Athlete of the Year Luncheon tomorrow at the Towson Sheraton.Each student chosen as an Athlete of the Week for the 1996-97 season is invited to the luncheon along with his/her parents and coach for the sport for which he/she was chosen. A SOPHOMORE at North County High School, Abby Bond, has been selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) 1998 Maryland Leadership Seminar from April 30 to May 3 at the Columbia Inn in Columbia.Abby is the daughter of Jane and Marvin Bond of Linthicum.HOBY is an international organization established in 1958 by actor Hugh O'Brian to develop leadership skills among youth. The Maryland Leadership Seminar, held annually since 1978, helps build those skills through workshops and discussion groups.
