The first stage of a season-long mission is complete for the Severna Park girls soccer team. Facing their biggest challenge to a possible fourth straight county title, the visiting and fifth-ranked Falcons used defense and experience to edge No. 11 Old Mill, 2-1, last night in Millersville. In collecting its sixth consecutive victory, Severna Park improved to 7-1-1 overall and remained undefeated in the county (6-0). "We still mean business," said senior striker Lauren Montgomery, who brushed away talk that this might be the year a team other than the Falcons claims the county crown.

"That's why I hate playing a team like Severna Park in the first game of the year.
