police reports in baltimore city : Central Baltimore Theft: Someone entered a garage in the 1000 block of Park Ave. between Sept. 18 and Sunday and stole a mountain bike valued at $270 parked in a bike rack. The theft was reported Wednesday. Theft: A navigational system valued at $350 was stolen Wednesday from a 2000 Plymouth Neon parked in the 1400 block of N. Calvert St. by someone who broke a window to gain entry. Shooting: A male, 18, was shot in the right leg in the 1700 block of McCulloh St. about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and was reported in good condition at an area hospital.

The victims are women, and the targets are purses left unattended in vehicles, shopping carts or a restaurant, police authorities say.Seven such incidents were reported to deputy sheriffs since Nov. 18.XTC "It only takes a second for a thief to get his Christmas present," said Dfc. DeWayne Curry, spokesman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office. The recent incidents:* Someone stole a Havre de Grace woman's wallet while she was shopping at a grocery store in the 3400 block of Emmorton Road in Abingdon on Nov. 20. The loss was valued at $244.

A man attacked an Annapolis woman in the parking lot of an Edgewater grocery store Monday, pushed her to the ground and stole her purse, county police said yesterday.Patricia C. Krasovich, of the first block of Alder Road, a clerk at the Giant in the 2900 block of Solomons Island Road, was leaving the store about 10: 30 p.m. when she was attacked, police said.The man pulled the purse with such force that the strap broke, police said.Pub Date: 6/06/96

Woman pushed to ground, robbed of purse at mallA man pushed a woman to the ground and stole her purse Wednesday outside The Mall in Columbia, Howard County police said.Suzanne Gibson, 32, of Columbia was not seriously injured, police said.A man approached her about 4: 30 p.m., just after she parked her car in the mall parking lot in the 10200 block of Little Patuxent Parkway, police said.He rushed past Gibson, shoved her to the ground, snatched her purse and ran. He drove away in a nearby car, police said.

A man trying to steal a woman's purse dragged her 20 feet through a Long Reach Village Center gas station parking lot over the weekend, Howard County police said.About noon Saturday, the man -- described as a black male between 35 and 40, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a dark jacket and sneakers -- wrestled the woman's purse away, police said.The victim, whom police did not immediately identify, was not injured.Last week, police reported a similar incident in Long Reach, during which an unknown assailant struck a woman in the back of her head, knocked her unconscious and then stole her purse.

Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.Northern DistrictShooting/arrest: A 19-year-old man was arrested late Saturday and charged with shooting another man in the upper left thigh while chasing the victim down an alley in the 5600 block of Lothian Road about 8 p.m. that night. The victim was treated at Good Samaritan Hospital.Theft: A cassette player, cassette tapes and a radar detector, all valued at more than $200, were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1900 block of N. Howard St. on Saturday.
