On Sunday, January 26, 2004, RICHARD CHARLES STEEN Of Parkville, MD passed away at the age of 60 at Franklin Square Hospital. Born August 29, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Samuel and Teresa Steen. Beloved brother of Joan Carl of Pylesville, MD, Samuel Steen of Naples, bFl and the late Margaret Profili of West Chester, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Steen served in the US Air Force, Medical Corp division in Alaska. He retired from the Baltimore County Police Department where his outstanding job performance was recognized by his receipt of numerous awards.

Boston Heights, the Annapolis housing complex burdened by drugs and code violations until it closed in November 1989, will reopen soon under a new name -- a few months later than its new owners had hoped.The first units in the complex, renamed Admiral Oaks, will accept tenants in March, said Leslie Steen, president of the Bethesda-based Community Preservation and Development Corp., which bought the complex from Sateesh K. Singh for $2 million last April.The housing group intended to reopen the complex last month, but Steen said getting approval from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development and financing from the state Community Development Administration took longer than expected.

A United Methodist minister who took a leave of absence to undergo a sex-change operation has resigned from the denomination rather than press for her reinstatement to ministry. The Rev. Rebecca A. Steen, previously the Rev. Richard A. Zamostny, submitted her resignation in the opening minutes Friday of a church hearing on whether to reinstate her. Zamostny, who had been a pastor in Thurmont and Rockville, took a voluntary leave of absence in October 1999 to undergo the sex-change operation.
