"Hubble Space Telescope: New Views of the Universe," a traveling exhibit developed by Baltimore's Space Telescope Science Institute and the Smithsonian Institution, stops nearest to Baltimore this summer during a visit to North Carolina's Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh. The exhibit showcases new images captured by the giant telescope -- including galaxies, planets, black holes and exploding stars -- and also looks at the methods scientists use to understand the universe. Visitors get a minicourse in the Hubble's inner workings, and there's an interactive display that simulates what it's like to repair the telescope while floating in zero gravity.

I didn't notice the new credits until tonight, with all the stars getting the "Bat Signal" that "DWTS" needs them again and rushing to the studio. They make me chuckle, just a little bit. Interviews from the crowd, including Sarah Palin, Maria Menounous, Kristi Yamaguchi and Nick Lachey. Our first three out are Bristol & Mark, Kelly & Val and Pamela & Tristan. Bristol came back to see if she could improve her confidence. Tom assures her that she seemed more confident last night than she did in her entire prior run. And then we get rehearsal footage of how OTT Mark is. Kelly missed the competitiveness of being on the show.

The Orioles' No. 1 pick in this year's draft, 21-year-old right-hander Kevin Gausman, dazzled Sunday in his home debut at Ripken Stadium with the Aberdeen Ironbirds of the Single-A New York-Penn League. With Orioles director of pitching development Rick Peterson looking on, Gausman pitched three innings against the Connecticut Tigers, striking out three while allowing one hit, no runs and one walk. He threw only 30 pitches and 20 were strikes. In his first outing with the Ironbirds on Monday, he went three innings against the State College Spikes, retiring all nine batters he faced while striking out two. Gausman was inked to a $4.32 million signing bonus, the third largest in Orioles history after the $6 million given to Matt Wieters in 2007 and the $5.25 million given Manny Machado in 2010.

The red carpet may have been a soggy, rainy mess but the stars at the Screen Actors Guild Awards were anything but, upping the glamour quotient for the event to Oscar-night proportions. Floor-sweeping trains, all-over beading and gobstopper-sized drop earrings were everywhere as women ditched the show's traditionally casual look for fashion with a capital "F." There were many hits and few misses, perhaps because the stars had plenty of time on their hands to think about what they were going to wear, now that the writers' strike has stretched into its 11th week.

If you buy what author Greg Polkosnik is selling, then we've been turning to the wrong stars for advice. Polkosnik, the self-proclaimed "world's foremost expert on fashion astrology," says we should take our fashion focus away from the stars in Hollywood and put it on the stars in the cosmos. In his book "Cosmically Chic: Discovering Your Fashion Style Through Astrology" (Andrews McMeel, $12.95), Polkosnik says we "must learn to express an image that is harmonious with the fabric you are made from."
