A Baltimore high school student was listed in stable condition Monday afternoon after he was stabbed in his upper body during an in-school confrontation with another student, school officials said. The Heritage High School student was treated by a school nurse and taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital after the incident about 10:45 a.m., city school officials said in a statement released five hours after the stabbing. School officials did not release the grade levels of the students involved.

Police are investigating a South Baltimore shooting Friday evening that wounded three men. Two 24-year-old victims were shot in the foot and a 22-year-old man shot in the arm around 6:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Anthony Smith, a city police spokesman. All were hospitalized in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, he said. Smith said Saturday morning that the shootings occurred in the 1200 block of W. Cross St. Four males in a vehicle, possibly a black Acura, were reportedly involved in the shooting, according to Smith.

A shooting in the Charles North neighborhood Monday evening has left a 32-year-old man hospitalized. Officers responded to reports of shots fired at 9:12 p.m. in the unit block of East 21 s t Street, near Charles Street, where they found the victim. He had been shot in the stomach and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. He remains in stable condition, police said. Sterling Watts, the Reisterstown teen at the center of an attempted murder investigation in which Baltimore County police killed a sword-wielding man Friday, is in stable condition with a bullet lodged in his brain, his father said Saturday. Watts hasn't spoken with police about Friday's incident, his father, Randolph Watts, said. Ronald Melvin Cox, the uncle of one of Sterling Watts' accused attackers, swung a large sword at police executing a search warrant in Reisterstown.

Anne Arundel County police officers are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck a 64-year-old bicyclist in Hanover on Sunday morning, sending him to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department and Shock Trauma Center spokesperson Cindy Rivers, the bicyclist, Stephen Eugene Shenefiel of the 1500 block of Conifer Ridge Lane in Prescott, Arizona, was listed in critical but stable condition as of Sunday night. Officers responded at 7:36 a.m. Sunday to the report of a bicyclist who was struck on Ridge Road near Furnace Avenue.

A 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound was found outside in a field by a nearby resident in the 11400 block of Frederick Road in Ellicott City about 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, according to Howard County police. Police do not believe the boy, who is from Baltimore County, shot himself, and are "investigating the possibility of foul play," police said. The boy was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was in critical but stable condition late Tuesday, police said. Detectives are investigating the incident, and are working with investigators from other local jurisdictions to determine how and why the shooting occurred, said Sherry Llewellyn, a police spokeswoman.

Howard County police have identified the driver who died in an Ellicott City car accident Thursday as Nikolay Aviles Rauner, 20, of Ellicott City. The passenger in the car with Rauner, identified as Cameron Hooker Lynch, 19, of Columbia, is in critical but stable condition. A man and woman in a second car involved in the accident were not injured. Police were first called to the 4300 block of Folly Quarter Road in western Ellicott City about 2 p.m. for an accident involving a 1991 Ford Taurus and a 1994 Ford Mustang.

Baltimore police are investigating a double shooting at 11:33 p.m. Tuesday in the Beechfield neighborhood. Two men, ages 24 and 25, were shot in the 600 block of Brisbane Road, authorities said. The 24-year-old man is in critical but stable condition at a nearby hospital. Three men were shot Tuesday night in Edgewood, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Police first received a report of shots fired in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive shortly after 8 p.m., said Monica Worrell, a sheriff's spokeswoman. There they located two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man, 43, was transported by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. The second man, 26, was transported by ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. A third shot man, 37, arrived shortly afterward at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center after being transported there by family members, Worrell said.

Detectives are investigating an overnight shooting in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle in the Parklane neighborhood of Baltimore, police said. An adult male was shot in the legs, according to authorities, and that he was in stable condition. ywenger@baltsun.com
