Howard County police have identified the driver who died in an Ellicott City car accident Thursday as Nikolay Aviles Rauner, 20, of Ellicott City. The passenger in the car with Rauner, identified as Cameron Hooker Lynch, 19, of Columbia, is in critical but stable condition. A man and woman in a second car involved in the accident were not injured. Police were first called to the 4300 block of Folly Quarter Road in western Ellicott City about 2 p.m. for an accident involving a 1991 Ford Taurus and a 1994 Ford Mustang.

Police are investigating a double-shooting in Northwest Baltimore early Sunday that left a man dead and a woman hospitalized. At about 4 a.m., a woman, who police have not identified, was found shot in the 2600 block of Park Heights Terrace. The woman was shot in the stomach, police said, and was transported to an area hospital where she's in serious but stable condition. The man, who police have not identified, was found shot multiple times in the torso in the rear alley of the 4200 block of Pimlico Road, around the corner from where the woman was found.

Two men are hospitalized Saturday after an early-morning fight in Annapolis left each with a single stab wound near the city's waterfront, police said. Police were called around to the 100 block of Dock Street, near the City Dock, for a reported fight, according to a release from the Annapolis Police Department. Officers found Daniel Hawvermale, 22, of Sandy Spring, stabbed in the chest. Daniel Bichner, 21, of Mt. Airy, was suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen, police said.

A 32-year-old man was in critical but stable condition Sunday morning after being shot multiple times late Saturday night in North Baltimore, police said. Officers found the victim lying in front of a home in the 4400 block of Wrenwood Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, suffering from wounds in the leg, buttocks and waist. He was taken to a hospital for surgery, said Detective Kevin Brown, a city police spokesman. Brown, who did not identify the man, said police have no suspects. — Jamie Smith Hopkins

A 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound was found outside in a field by a nearby resident in the 11400 block of Frederick Road in Ellicott City about 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, according to Howard County police. Police do not believe the boy, who is from Baltimore County, shot himself, and are "investigating the possibility of foul play," police said. The boy was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was in critical but stable condition late Tuesday, police said. Detectives are investigating the incident, and are working with investigators from other local jurisdictions to determine how and why the shooting occurred, said Sherry Llewellyn, a police spokeswoman.

A man was stabbed Friday night at Benchwarmer's Pub in Middle River, Baltimore County police said. Police received a call at 11:28 p.m. and determined that the man was stabbed in the torso. It was unclear whether the stabbing occurred inside or outside the pub, police said. Officers did not identify the man. The injured man was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he is in stable condition, said Cpl. John Wachter, a Baltimore County police spokesman.

Yamil Rosario, one of the jockeys injured Tuesday in a spill at Colonial Downs in Virginia, was upgraded from critical to stable condition yesterday at Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond. Paul Plymire, his agent, said that doctors told him the jockey, who is 19, should fully recover. Plymire said last night that Rosario, a native of Puerto Rico who lives in Laurel, was being moved from intensive care into a regular room. "It's just a very, very severe concussion," Plymire said.

Anne Arundel County police officers are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck a 64-year-old bicyclist in Hanover on Sunday morning, sending him to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department and Shock Trauma Center spokesperson Cindy Rivers, the bicyclist, Stephen Eugene Shenefiel of the 1500 block of Conifer Ridge Lane in Prescott, Arizona, was listed in critical but stable condition as of Sunday night. Officers responded at 7:36 a.m. Sunday to the report of a bicyclist who was struck on Ridge Road near Furnace Avenue.

Baltimore police have identified a 19-year-old woman who died after a triple shooting Saturday evening in Northeast Baltimore. Tanise Ervin was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Hospital about two hours after the 6 p.m. incident outside a delicatessen on the 1100 block of Gorsuch Avenue, according to Det. Kevin Brown, a spokesman for the police. In his account of the incident, officers who were dispatched to the scene found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. One was Ervin, and her companions were two men, one aged 24, the other 20. An investigation revealed that as the trio left the deli at the intersection of Gorsuch Avenue and Independence Street they were fired upon, although it was not clear by whom.
