To upset top-ranked Archbishop Spalding in yesterday's Catholic League tournament final, Institute of Notre Dame would need to play good defense, capitalize on every opportunity and keep Cavaliers pitcher Kim Sheridan from gaining momentum. The Indians accomplished none of the above, resulting in an 11-0 Spalding romp at McDonogh School, as the Cavaliers claimed their third straight tournament title when the game was ended with none out in the fifth inning by the league's 10-run rule.In the consolation game, Mandy Fabula's fourth-inning double scored Sue Taylor with what proved to be the winning run of Seton Keough's 16-3 victory over McDonogh.
