Baltimore CityROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 3100 block of Ellerslie Ave. was talking on an outside telephone in the 500 block of E. 30th St. Wednesday morning when he was assaulted by two men, one with a handgun, who robbed him of his money, three pagers, a pair of tennis shoes and a jacket, all valued at more than $500. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries by the crew of a fire department ambulance and released.ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman robbed the Beauty Outlet in the 5600 block of The Alameda Thursday of less than $50.THEFT: Northern District -- Police were seeking a woman who entered a house in the 2600 block of Miles Ave. Wednesday and stole $300 and a microwave oven.

John Michael Nagel Sr., a retired Baltimore police officer who was active in the Knights of Columbus, died of complications from diabetes Thursday at his Dundalk home. He was 63. Mr. Nagel, who was born and raised on Belt Street in South Baltimore, was a 1959 graduate of Southern High School and joined the city police force in 1962. After graduating from the police academy, Mr. Nagel was assigned to the Southwestern District as a foot patrolman. He then was transferred to the Southeastern District, where he spent the rest of his career.

The commander of the Baltimore Police Department's Southeastern District, who was suspended last month as internal investigators examined his office computer, has been demoted and will return to patrol, police said. Maj. Roger Bergeron, an 18-year veteran who oversaw the district for nearly three years, accepted a demotion to the rank of lieutenant and will return to a yet-to-be-determined patrol district effective Sunday, according to Anthony Guglielmi, the department's chief spokesman.

Calvert St. early yesterday and took $420 in property.* STABBING: Central District -- A man was stabbed with a screwdriver by another man near the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Charles Street at 4:40 a.m. yesterday.* LARCENY FROM AUTO: Central District -- Tools valued at $215 were taken from a truck parked in the 1200 block of Maryland Ave. yesterday morning.* LARCENCY FROM AUTO: Central District -- A compact disc player valued at $200 was taken from a car parked in the first block of N. Eutaw St. Saturday night.

BALTIMORE CITY* BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a house in the 700 block of Argonne Drive through a rear kitchen window Monday and ransacked several rooms looking for property to steal. Due to the condition of the rooms, it was not immediately known if any property was stolen.* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 600 block of Radnor Ave. was in the 5000 block of Ready Ave. Monday when a gunman robbed him of $150.* ROBBERY: Northern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the Royal Farms store in the 200 block of W. Cold Spring Lane of an undisclosed sum of money Monday afternoon.
