LONDON -- The English Football Association has charged former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar with accepting bribes to fix matches.FA chief executive Graham Kelly said Grobbelaar could continue playing for Southampton pending a hearing.A London paper, The Sun, reported last week that the Zimbabwean, who has 14 days to prove his innocence, took bribes from a Far East gambling syndicate to fix games with Liverpool and Southampton.* The U.S. Under-17 National Soccer Team clinched a spot in the 1995 FIFA Under-17 World Championship by finishing second in a qualifying tournament that ended Sunday in El Salvador.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- Peter Pan, the fairy tale character who flies through the sky and battles with pirates, has been grounded by a new foe: the 1990s debate over multiculturalism.A middle school in Southampton canceled last month its production of "Peter Pan," scheduled to open last weekend, because administrators found that its portrayal of Indians was offensive to members of the Shinnecock tribe, whose reservation is on the town's border and whose children make up about 9 percent of the district's student body.

Police arrested three people on drug charges Friday evening after raiding a Glen Burnie apartment and seizing money and cocaine.Part of the Northern District's tactical narcotics team, along with special operation officers, had conducted a two-week investigation into suspected crack cocaine dealing at the apartment in the 7800 block of Southampton Drive, Glen Burnie.Police said they seized a small amount of crack cocaine, with a street value of about $800, and $200 in cash.The investigation is continuing, police said, and more charges are expected.
