A 67-year-old West Baltimore man's car was found yesterday, a day after the man was discovered fatally shot on the steps of a city rowhouse, police said. Officers stopped the white Buick Skylark about 10:30 a.m. at Fulton and Riggs avenues in West Baltimore, Detective Vernon Parker said. Two men in the car were taken into police custody and were being questioned last night about the death of Hughey David Chisholm Jr. of the 800 block of N. Woodington Road in Edmondson Village. It is unclear what happened to Chisholm after he left home about 2:30 p.m. Sunday in his Skylark to visit his favorite bar, the Wooden Nickel in East Baltimore.

"Skylark" bakes like the dry clay of the Kansas farm fields in which the movie unfolds. And happily, Sunday's sequel to 1991's graceful "Sarah, Plain and Tall" offers a satisfying confection of surprising subtlety. An American story to the bone, persuasively evoking the pioneer experience that built the nation's heartland, "Skylark" airs at 9 p.m. on CBS (WBAL-Channel 11) as a Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation.Glenn Close, Christopher Walken and most of the other cast members of "Sarah" return, taking up author Patricia MacLachlan's tale of a mail-order bride from Maine who must yet learn that to truly love her man she has to also love the harsh land he cherishes.

An article in The Sun Tuesday stated incorrectly that an accident in which three Carroll County children were killed Sunday occurred when the car in which they were riding swerved to avoid a Buick Skylark. In fact, the accident occurred when the car in which the children were riding went out of control on the wet road and sideswiped the Skylark.Russell and Betty Lou Corbett's future looked bright: He had a good job and together they planned to build a spacious home on a shady spot of land in rural Carroll County where they could raise their three children and, maybe, a few horses too.The Corbetts seemed to live the American dream, some say, until it shattered Sunday afternoon when the station wagon they were riding in crashed on a rain-slicked country road -- killing the Corbett children and severely injuring their parents and a teen-age baby sitter.
