A Jessup couple were arrested on drug charges after Howard County police raided their Elkridge home and found marijuana and cocaine Thursday night.Patricia Lee Conrad, 34, and Richard Lee Fox, 38, of the 7100 block of Kit Kat Road were charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.The two were being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $5,000 bond each Friday.Narcotics detectives served a warrant at the home at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, police said.

A Glen Burnie woman fended off two men who tried to force their way into her home Wednesday night by screaming and hitting one of them, county police said.Stephanie Jealanie Ginn, 26, of Dundee was not injured in the incident. She told police she answered her doorbell about 8:30 p.m. and found a man standing there with two bouquets of flowers on top of a box.The man told Ms. Ginn that a man named John had sent her the flowers. When she took the bouquet, the man pushed his way into her foyer and put one hand over her mouth and the other hand behind her head, police said.

A man wearing a ski mask robbed a High's store of $40 Tuesday night after he thrust his hand into his right coat pocket as if he had a gun, police said.The man entered the store in the 700 block of Church St. about 9:30 p.m., police said. He ordered three employees to get behind the counter, open the cash register and lie on the floor. He then took the money from the register and left. He was last seen running north on Disney Road with two other men, police said.A police dog tracked the suspect to an alley between Wasena Avenue and Disney Street, where officers found a ski mask and some socks they believe the suspects used as gloves, police said.

The attorney for an Army sergeant accused of armed robbery told a Howard Circuit Court jury yesterday that his client was the victim of a terrible coincidence when he was arrested minutes after the crime next to an automated teller machine.But a county prosecutor said the defendant was at the bank machine trying to use a Florida man's credit card to obtain money after the victim was assaulted and robbed in a Jessup motel.A jury of six men and six women will have to choose between those two versions of what happened Feb. 5 when they begin deliberations today in the trial of Army Sgt. John Easter Moore Jr., 26, an emergency medical technician assigned to the pediatric clinic at Fort Meade.

POLICE LOG* Scaggsville: 8800 block of Herons Flight: A man wearing only a ski mask was seen standing in a resident's front yard about 2 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect was only described as a white male, police said.

A convenience store in the 200 block of Oak Manor Drive was robbed Friday night by a man who implied he had a gun, police said.A man walked into the Royal Farm Store shortly after 11 p.m. and told the store clerk, "Go to the register. I'm not joking."The man was wearing a blue ski mask, his right hand was in his jacket pocket and he was snapping the fingers of his left hand as he spoke, police said.The clerk opened the cash register and handed over an undetermined amount of money. The man then fled the store, police said.

Howard County police arrested a man wearing a ski mask at an automated teller machine Saturday night in connection with an earlier robbery at a Jessup motel.In the 9 p.m. robbery, two men knocked on the door of a room at the Red Roof Inn in the 8000 block of Washington Blvd., police said. When a man inside responded, two men forced their way past him.Once inside, intruders tied up the man and stole his credit cards and an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.The victim eventually freed himself and reported the robbery.

A Baltimore man withdrawing money from an automated teller machine behind the state Motor Vehicle Administration building on Ritchie Highway on Monday night was robbed of $200 by a man armed with a handgun, county police said.Ronald Anthony Imbragulio, 27, was withdrawing $40 from the machine about 9 p.m. He told police that the robber came up behind him and poked the handgun at his back.Police said the robber ordered Mr. Imbragulio to give him the $40, then withdraw an additional $160. He stole the victim's driver's license and car keys and ordered him to lie on the ground while he fled.

Two men robbed a Deale bakery and threatened to kill a clerk Tuesday evening, county police reported.The robbers walked through the rear door of Nick's Corner Bakery in the 5800 block of Route 256 around 5:30 p.m. and threatened the 22-year-old clerk."

Police are seeking 2 men after attempted holdupHoward County police are searching for two young men who tried to rob a 30-year-old Virginia man as he locked his car in a parking garage in Town Center Thursday night.The victim was uninjured, police said.Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday, two men wearing ski masks approached the man in a parking garage in the 10200 block of Wincopin Circle, police said.One of the masked men, armed with a handgun, demanded the victim's cash, police said. Then both robbers searched the victim and ran away when they found no money.
