A Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday 10 A.M. at the Chapel of Villa Assumpta. Interment Villa Maria Cemetery, Glen Arm. On January 21, 2006, SISTER MARY BENEDICT (Mary Anne) HENDERSON, OSF; daughter of the late Hugh and Ann Mc Laughlin Henderson; survived by one brother, Hugh Joe Henderson of Donegal, Ireland. Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. Sister Benedict's Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 27, 10 A.M. in the Clare Court Convent Chapel, 3725 Ellerslie Avenue. Interment following in the Convent Cemetery. Arrangements by family owned Henry W. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home.

Sister Mary Charlotte Beierli, who taught for many years in Westminster, died of old age Nov. 23 at her order's Maria Health Care Center in Baltimore. She was 94. Born Elizabeth Virginia Beierli and raised in Baltimore, she was a 1930 graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame and entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1932. She taught at St. Augustine parochial school in Elkridge, St. Wenceslaus in East Baltimore, St. Patrick in Mount Savage and Corpus Christi in Bolton Hill. She also taught in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

On March 29, 2008 Sister MARY MARGARET ROMMAL, SUSC, 86, whose religious name was Sister Paul Winifred, passed away at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She is survived by her Holy Union Sisters, her sister-in-law Lorraine Rommal, her cousin, Marie Schiele and her husband Bob of Catonsville, her dear niece Patty Keiser, and several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Albert and Dolores (Lawrence) Rommal and her brothers John Patrick and Albert Paul Rommal as well as her aunt, Sister Mary Florence Lawrence, SUSC, (Sister Joseph Winifred)

Sister Mary Leonissa Clements, a longtime elementary school teacher and member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, died Friday at St. Joseph Medical Center after suffering a stroke. She was 91 and lived at Villa Assumpta. Born Geraldine Rose Clements in Washington, D.C., she attended St. Boniface School in Philadelphia and was taught by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. She worked in a hosiery mill before entering the order in 1934 and studying at the Institute of Notre Dame. She received a teaching certificate from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and a bachelor's degree in education from St. John University in Brooklyn, N.Y. She began teaching elementary school at St. Theresa in Washington and continued at parishes in Rochester, N.Y., and Brooklyn.

Sister Mary Ambrosia Vasold, a teacher and administrator with the School Sisters of Notre Dame for nearly seven decades, died of a heart attack June 20 at her order's Villa Assumpta motherhouse in Baltimore County. She was 97. The oldest of nine children, she was born Elizabeth Vasold in Baltimore and attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Elementary School in Highlandtown, graduating in 1921. She worked while attending evening classes at Eastern High School. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1926 and professed her vows four years later.

Sister Mary Julie Maggioni, RSM, who grew up speaking Italian and English in the American South and became a French professor, died Thursday at The Villa convent in Towson. She was 83 and had been in failing health for several years.Sister Julie taught from 1950 to 1962 at Mount St. Agnes College in Mount Washington, which closed in 1968. She returned to her native Savannah, Ga., where she taught French from 1968 to 1978 at St. Vincent's Academy and Savannah State College.She also taught at St. Xavier College in Chicago and Mercy House of Studies in France.

Sister Mary Glenn Fortson, a Religious Sister of Mercy and retired medical records librarian, died Friday of complications from a stroke at The Villa, her order's retirement home in North Baltimore. She was 90. From 1949 to 1986, she directed the medical records department at Mercy Medical Center in downtown Baltimore. For the next eight years she worked in patient care. Born Annie Glenn Fortson in Columbus, Ga., she entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1942 and was given the name Sister Mary William when she professed her vows in 1944.

On March 26, 2008, SISTER MARY LUKE (Kathleen) BROSNAN, O.S.F.; daughter of the late Timothy and Ellen Brosnan; survived by the sisters of St. Francis of Assisi; two sisters Mary Lovett and Annie Curran, many nieces, nephews and very good friends, Timothy and Susan Doorry. The wake for Sister Mary Luke will be held at Clare Court Convent, 3725 Ellerslie Avenue, Balto., on Sunday at 7 P.M. Her funeral will held a the convent on Monday at 10:30 A.M. Interment following in the Mother house cemetery.

Coia and Ann Pileggi; aunt of Patti Herbert, Theresa, Gene, and Fred Coia and John Pileggi; five grand-nieces and four grand-nephews; sister of the late Florence Coia. Friends may call at the Villa, 6806 Bellona Avenue, on Tuesday, from 10 to 11 A.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Villa at 10 A.M. Interment will be in New Jersey.
