LAS VEGAS - This was not the O.J. Simpson of old. His wrists shackled, eyes reddened and husky voice cracking, the fallen football star - who famously was acquitted of double murder in Los Angeles - was sentenced yesterday to up to 33 years in prison for robbing a pair of memorabilia dealers. He will be eligible for parole in nine years. Surprising even Judge Jackie Glass, Simpson delivered a tearful, five-minute apology to a packed Las Vegas courtroom. "I didn't mean to steal anything from anybody.

Would you believe this is the mother of a 3-month-old? And we thought Kerry Simpson was simply one of the most chic attendees at Silo Point's grand opening party. Family is first for this 33-year-old Columbia stay-at-home mom of new baby Jack and 21/2-year-old Luke. But she obviously knows how to maintain her style, too. This was going to be a night to shine for her husband, Silo Point sales manager Scott Simpson. So Simpson went on the hunt for the perfect outfit, and found almost all of it at one of her favorite stores, the discounter Loehmann's.

The verdict in the most recent O.J. Simpson trial came and went in the dark of night in a Las Vegas courtroom. The proceedings might not have been breathlessly awaited, but the outcome still provoked strong emotions through Los Angeles, a city indelibly marked by the first Simpson trial 13 years ago. This latest verdict was seen by many as a sad epilogue: Either Simpson is getting what he deserves or can't figure out how to stay out of trouble - or...

You know who is the hottest thing in Texas? Me. In this pink Cowboys jersey. That's right, I said it. Personally, I don't care about no jinxes. Daddy always said, "Life ain't a Larry Potter story, Jessie," and I agree. Those movies are dumb anyway, with little kids flying on brooms and throwing jinxes at people. If God wanted brooms to fly, he would have given them feathers. When I'm wearing this pink jersey, I'm hotter than Chicken of the Sea on a fresh tuna melt. I'm like 98 degrees, and I don't mean that third-rate boy band my ex-husband used to front.

Listen up, Jessica! This is the other third of your brain talking. Don't wear that stupid pink Romo jersey again? Look at how good Tony played the other night when you wore a blue jersey and watched the game at home, flipping back and forth between Rock of Love reruns. He was amazing! That pink jersey is cursed, though. I swear! Remember that game last December in Dallas, when Tony went 13-for-36 with three interceptions in a loss to the Eagles? You were there with the jersey. It's like that ring in the movie where Elijah Wood plays a midget with big hairy feet, and he goes on a quest with a lizard.

BEIJING - The Olympic sprints are officially Jamaica's world, and we're all just spectators at a rollicking party. Shelly-Ann Fraser, Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart ran off with an unprecedented sweep of the women's 100-meter dash yesterday, an exhilarating victory that withstood American officials' protest that the field should have been called back after Torri Edwards' admitted false start. It was the first time since 1976 that no American woman finished in the top three in the 100 at a fully attended Olympics.

The Rev. Dave Simpson is not a pedantic scholar. And he does not devote his time playing in trivia leagues or memorizing factoids. But the Lutheran minister who likes to read won $90,901 during his five-game stint on the TV game show, Jeopardy. "You can't really study for Jeopardy," said Simpson, 46, an associate minister at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Joppa. "Brad Rutter, the biggest winner on the show, said you do well by a lifetime of paying attention. I've just been curious about things and read a lot."
