The only defense the lawyer could have would be to say the officer went insane, especially because the witnesses are saying the Marine, Tyrone Brown, wasn't lunging at the officer but had his hands up. Baltimore County police are investigating a non-fatal shooting early Thursday in Pikesville. The victim, who police said is in his late 20s, remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Officers had responded to reports of shots fired at 1:19 a.m. to the unit block of Amleht Court, near Milbrook Park Drive. The investigation is continuing with no suspect at this time, police said. Harford County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in Edgewood late Wednesday evening. Deputies responded to Edgewater Drive at Fisherman's Lane in Edgewater Village around 10:15 p.m. and found a 22-year-old man lying on the ground, according to a news release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Tarez Kwame Williams had been shot in the leg and was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, according to the sheriff's office. He has since been released, from the hospital.

Baltimore police were investigating a second shooting in a Southwest Baltimore neighborhood today, after a man was found shot in the leg just blocks from where another man was shot early Sunday morning. The shooting took place on Pulaski and Hollins streets around 1 p.m., according to Det. Jeremy Silbert, a spokesman for the Baltimore police. At 8 a.m., officers responded to Pulaski and Boyd streets, where a 20-year-old man was found shot multiple times. No further details about the shootings were available, but Silbert said officers were investigating whether the two were related.

A 31-year-old was treated for a graze wound after a shooting in Northeast Baltimore early Friday morning, according to Baltimore police. Officers responded to a call for a shooting at about 12:12 a.m. and found the victim suffering from a graze wound to the left side of his neck. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. A teenager was killed and two others were injured in a shooting Sunday night in Halethorpe, according to Baltimore County Police. The incident occurred at 8:54 p.m. in the 100 block of Twin Circle Way, said police spokesman Cpl. Mike Hill. Officers responded to Twin Circle Way and McDowell Lane for a report of shots fired. They found 16-year-old Dequan Travonte Burks, of Baltimore's Lakeland neighborhood, lying on the sidewalk in front of a row house, Hill said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the shooting of an 18-year-old male late Friday in the Yale Heights neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore. Officers called to the 4300 block of Cedar Garden Road shortly before midnight arrived to find the victim with multiple gunshot wounds, Det. Kevin Brown said. He did not name the victim. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Saturday with non-life-threatening injuries, Brown said. The shooting appears to have stemmed from "some sort of drug dispute," Brown said.

If a civilian pulled that stunt ("Officer who shot husky acted in self defense, lawyer says," Aug. 6), he would be facing years in jail for reckless endangerment. For a cop, it is considered legal target shooting or just cop fun. Remember Mayor Cheye Calvo. The SWAT team probably received letters of commendation for terrorizing his family and murdering his dog. Cops are now Gestapo and out of control. Keith Mitchell

Baltimore County Police are looking for information about the shooting of a 41-year-old man early Friday. Police responded to the rear of the first block of Oak Grove Drive in Middle River for a report of a man shot. They found the victim, identified as Denorris "Pops" Washington, with several gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and remains in critical condition.
