Sheeler and the late Charles W., Luther E., and Wilbert A. Sheeler. Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Rd., (at York Rd.), Timonium-Cockeysville, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, January 18, at 10 A.M. Interment Poplar Grove Cemetery.

Film historian Bruce Posner spent almost four years on this inspired salvage job, using some of the same cutting-edge digital tools developed to restore better-known pictures such as Kurosawa's Rashomon. The labor paid off: This print renews the sharp, gritty luminosity of the 1921 collaboration between photographer Paul Strand and painter Charles Sheeler. It plays Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the National Gallery of Art, a perfect setting for a quintessential art film.

An accountant for an Eldersburg car dealership admitted in Carroll Circuit Court yesterday that he stole more than $625,000 from the business since 1988.Stephen Clifton Sheeler, 47, of Rosedale, Baltimore County, pleaded guilty to one count of felony theft. Sheeler admitted writing more than $625,000 worth of checks to himself from Jeff Barnes' Chevrolet-Geo.In exchange for Sheeler's guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop 12 other felony theft charges.Carroll Circuit Judge Luke K. Burns Jr. ordered a presentence investigation of Sheeler and set sentencing for March 24.Sheeler could receive up to 15 years in prison, but prosecutors said yesterday they will wait to see the presentence investigation report before they recommend a sentence to the judge.

The former treasurer of Jeff Barnes Chevrolet-Oldsmobile-Geo Inc. in Eldersburg was sentenced yesterday to 14 years in state prison for stealing more than $625,000 over five years from the car dealership.At the sentencing hearing for Stephen Clifton Sheeler, Carroll Circuit Judge Luke K. Burns Jr. called the theft the biggest embezzlement scheme he's seen in his 16 years on the bench."He's done a lot of damage to the company and to its employees," the judge said later in a telephone interview.

Leedy, Barbara Munderloh, Jason and Kelli Simpson, Rhett and Elizabeth Toms; great grandchildren, Lasz and Amber; and other family members, Dolly, Barbara and Bonnie Munderloh. He had many interest and talents. He was a Civil War enthusiast, historian, gas station owner, printer, laundry route manager, ship builder, insurance representative, real estate owner and a cow and calf rancher (his lifelong dream)

As scores listened to a dignitary-filled Memorial Day ceremony nearby, Kathleen McNeal Sheeler clutched flowers and pushed her daughter in a stroller up a cemetery hill, her young son dutifully walking beside her. She comes often to the graves of her father, a World War II veteran who died just before Christmas in 2001, and her stock-analyst brother, who died months before that in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks. They are buried beside one another at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, where Memorial Day remembrances came yesterday in both public and private moments.

Vivian Nusbaum of Union Bridge was elected chairwoman of the Carroll County Commission on Aging yesterday during the panel's monthly meeting at the Westminster Senior Citizens Center.Mrs. Nusbaum, last year's vice chairwoman, will assume the post held during the past year by Richard Warehime of New Windsor.Kenneth Mays of Taneytown was elected vice chairman.The Commission on Aging serves as a volunteer advisory board for the Carroll County Bureau of Aging.Commission member Peg Sheeler briefed members yesterday on a new telephone network through which the Bureau of Aging will be able to notify seniors of urgent matters that may arise during the 1994 General Assembly session.
