On April 10, 2007, VIRGINIA SHANKLIN of Port Orange, FL, formerly of Baltimore, beloved wife of the late Richard G. Shanklin, Jr., devoted mother of Sharon Denitto, Rebecca Nelson and Richard G. Shanklin, III; dear sister of Christian and Vernon Seibert and the late Frederick Seibert. Also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Christopher and Elizabeth Seibert. Services will be private.

George Harold Shanklin, a retired box company maintenance worker and former Perry Hall resident, died of a heart attack July 7 at a hospital in Leominster, Mass. He was 78. Mr. Shanklin was born and raised in Fork and graduated from Towson High School in 1949. He worked for F.X. Hooper Co. Inc. in Glen Arm, manufacturer of corrugated box machinery, until enlisting in the Army in 1952. He returned to the company in 1954, which by that time had been purchased by the Koppers Co. Mr. Shanklin later moved to Lunenburg, Mass.

Family will receive friends at the Evans Chapel of Memories-Parkville on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Margaret K. Shanklin, who enjoyed working with special-needs children, died of heart failure Friday at Augsburg Lutheran Home and Village in Lochearn. She was 84. She was born and reared Margaret Katherine Fitzgerald, the daughter of a coal miner, in Barton, Allegany County. Mrs. Shanklin was a graduate of Barton Senior High School and during World War II moved to Baltimore, where she took a position at the old Glenn L. Martin Co. in Middle River. In 1944, she married James Eric Shanklin, and the couple later settled in Lochearn, where they lived for more than 50 years.

On August 11, 2005, FRANCIS W. "FRANK" WEBB, 88 years old, of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Rockdale, MD. He retired as a Postman from the U.S. Postal Service in Baltimore. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was born in Alberton, MD and moved to Palm Coast in 1974. He was an avid reader, especially Civil War and WW II. Beloved father of David Webb of Tampa FL, Ann and Fred Lisi of Palm Coast; dear brother-in-law of Miriam Webb of Catonsville, and Elaine and Clarence Thompson; grandfather of Wendy Webb Shanklin and her husband Thomas of La Vale, MD, and Todd Webb of Westminster; great grandfather of Emily Day Shanklin; known as "Uncle Panky" to several nieces and nephews.
